Dredging Opportunities in Indian Waters

The Dredging Conference organized by Hinode in Kolkata on Thursday, January 21, 2016 will spotlight the vast opportunities that exists for dredging companies and other allied agencies in Inland Waters waters. Marine Pilot Training Partnership Announced

BMT Consultants India (BMT), an international maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy, announced a partnership with Bibby Ship Management to deliver training for marine pilots. Based at Bibby’s state of the art training center at St Xavier’s Technical Institute in Mumbai, the new partnership will utilize BMT’s REMBRANDT marine maneuvering simulator. Operating directly from S57 ENC chart data, REMBRANDT is a highly accurate, capable and flexible alternative to Full Mission Bridge (FMB) marine simulators, allowing the user to load any port.

Australian Coal Port Expansion Contract

BMT & Adani Mining Pty Ltd (Adani) to design expansion at the Adani Abbot Point Coal Terminal at Abbot Point, north of Mackay, Queensland. The collaboration will involve BMT engineers from Australia (BMT WBM) and India (BMT Consultants (India)) working closely together with Adani at its head office in Ahmedabad, India. The proposed ‘T0’ expansion of the coal terminal at Abbot Point will have a capacity of 70 million tons per annum of product coal and together with the existing ‘T1’ terminal, will deliver a total capacity of 120 million tons per annum.
