SeaBird Exploration Signs LoI with 'Leading Operator' for Fulmar Explorer Source Vessel

Seismic services company SeaBird Exploration has signed a letter of intent for a source vessel contract with an unnamed "leading operator."The company did not say where the vessel would be deployed exactly apart from saying it would be in the Western Hemisphere.According to SeaBird, the operator has specifically requested the Fulmar Explorer vessel for the work program. The 80.35 meters long Fulmar Explorer, built in 2009, joined the SeaBird Exploration fleet in 2019. The vessel's previous name was BOA Galatea.The contract is expected to start in Q4 2021 and has an expected duration of about 4 months. SeaBird Wins Wintershall Survey Contract

The provider of marine 2D and 3D seismic data and associated products and services to the oil and gas industry, SeaBird Exploration announced a contract award by Wintershall Dea for 2D acquisition in the Norwegian Sea.The survey has an expected duration of one month and start in the third quarter this year, the Norwegian seismic player said in a press release.Meanwhile, SeaBird has made further progress towards the completion of the acquisition of the Boa Galatea and Boa Thalassa vessels. SeaBird to Buy BOA Offshore Vessels

Norwegian seismic acquisition company SeaBird Exploration said  it is in an exclusive process to acquire the seismic vessels BOA Galatea and BOA Thalassa owned by BOA Offshore in a transaction which values the vessels at NOK 185 million ($22 million).The BOA Vessels are well suited for source and 2D operations, as well as EM seabed logging, for which BOA Thalassa is currently contracted with EMGS ASA until September 2019 with options for EMGS ASA to extend for three periods of six months each.In order to finance the acquisition of the BOA Vessels, as well as to finance an upgrade of BOA Galatea to high end 2D / source capability, the Company is contemplating a private placement of new shares  in the Company raising gross proceeds of minimum NOK 225 million and maximum of NOK 250 million.

Two Contracts Go to SeaBird

Marine surveyor SeaBird Exploration said on Monday it has been awarded two new contracts, including one in West Africa and another in the Gulf of Mexico.The company said it received a letter of award for a niche 3D survey in West Africa, with a total value of approximately $6.5 million. EMGS' Vessels Utilization Drops

Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) releases information on vessel activity and utilisation 4-5 working days after the close of each quarter. The Company defines "vessel utilisation" as the percentage of the vessel charter period spent on contracted or multi-client data acquisition. Vessel utilisation for the fourth quarter 2015 came in at 21% compared with 63% for the fourth quarter in 2014. For the full year 2015, the vessel utilisation was 59%, whereas the utilisation for the full year 2014 ended at 69%. In the fourth quarter of 2015, the Company's vessels were allocated 21% to contract and no time were spent on multi-client programmes. In the fourth quarter of 2014, the allocation was 39% on contract work and 24% on multi-client programmes.

EMGS Bags PEMEX Contract

Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) has received a letter from PEMEX to return for 3D EM acquisition in Mexico. The vessel BOA Galatea is expected to re-start the work for PEMEX. The order is confirming a continuation of the existing contract for PEMEX, announced on 27 June 2013.   "We are delighted to start working for PEMEX again in this exciting region," said Bjarte Bruheim, CEO of EMGS.   The duration of the acquisition is not settled. EMGS - Vessel update for 1Q 2015

Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) releases information on vessel activity and utilisation 4-5 working days after the close of each quarter. The Company defines "vessel utilisation" as the percentage of the vessel charter period spent on contracted or multi-client data acquisition. Vessel utilisation for the first quarter 2015 came in at 76% compared with 66% for the first quarter 2014. In the first quarter of 2015, the Company's vessels were allocated 24% to contract and 52% to multi-client programmes. For the corresponding quarter in 2014, the allocation was 56% and 10% respectively. EMGS recorded 12 vessel months this quarter, compared with 10.7 in the first quarter of 2014. The BOA Thalassa has been in Asia for the full quarter positioned for expected contract work in the region.

EMGS - Fleet Operation for 3Q 2014

Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) releases information on vessel activity and utilisation 4-5 working days after the close of each quarter. The Company defines "vessel utilisation" as the percentage of the vessel charter period spent on contracted or multi-client data acquisition. Vessel utilisation for the third quarter 2014 came in at 69% compared with 77% for the third quarter 2013. In the third quarter this year, the Company's vessels were allocated 31% to contract and 38% to multi-client programmes, whereas the allocation was 35% and 42% respectively in the corresponding quarter last year. EMGS recorded 11.4 vessel months this quarter, compared with 9.9 in the third quarter of 2013.

EMGS - Vessel Update and Activity for 2Q 2014

Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) releases information on vessel activity and utilisation 4-5 working days after the close of each quarter. The Company defines "vessel utilisation" as the percentage of the vessel charter period spent on contracted or multi-client data acquisition. Vessel utilisation for the second quarter 2014 came in at 75% compared with 78% for the second quarter 2013. In the second quarter this year, the Company's vessels were allocated 38% to contract and 37% tomulti-client programmes, whereas the allocation was 32% and 46% respectively in the corresponding quarter last year. EMGS recorded 12.0 vessel months this quarter, compared with 11.5 in the second quarter of 2013.

Floatel Books into Gibdock

The Norwegian-owned offshore accommodation vessel, Edda Fides, one of the most  advanced and sophisticated vessels of its type in the world,  has been dry-docked at Gibdock in Gibraltar for a week-long package of work at the yard. The ‘floatel’, owned by Østensjø Rederi, arrived at Gibdock on April 2nd and was docked the following day. The main scope of work involved disconnecting and lowering the starboard aft Voith Thruster and renewing the main thruster seal. Edda Fides has a unique monohull form to enable the positioning of the accommodation forward and the Voith thrusters to the stern.

Gibdock Nets Another Offshore Client

Gibraltar-based shiprepair yard Gibdock has added another name to its increasingly long list of clients in the offshore sector. In September the yard drydocked the 3000grt Boa Galatea, an offshore survey vessel, for Norway’s Boa Offshore. This is the first time that the family-owned Boa Offshore business, which operates a fleet of over 40 offshore vessels, has used Gibdock, and comes hard on the heels of other offshore vessel contracts handled this year by the yard for Solstad, DOF and others.
