Ulstein Implements Organizational Changes
Naming and organizational changes are underway in the Ulstein Group companies in the Netherlands. As of August 1, 2015, the ship design company Ulstein Sea of Solutions has been renamed Ulstein Design & Solutions BV (UDS BV), while the equipment company Ulstein Idea Equipment Solutions has been renamed Ulstein Equipment BV (UE BV). Edwin van Leeuwen and Gilbert Rezette enter positions as managing directors of the respective companies. Furthermore the holding company for the Ulstein Group activities in the Netherlands has been renamed into Ulstein Netherlands in which Sigurd Viseth takes position as managing director. He will also on behalf of Ulstein become Chairman of the Board in the Dutch companies.
ULSTEIN Establishes New Subsidiary
ULSTEIN has recently established a new company, Ulstein IDEA Equipment Solutions. This company will take over the activities of former IDEA Heavy Equipment b.v, a Dutch company that ULSTEIN has cooperated with in recent years. Ulstein IDEA Equipment Solutions will be engaged in the development and manufacturing of mission and interface equipment on board vessels, mainly working in the offshore and dredging markets. ULSTEIN holds a majority interest in the new company and COO Tore Ulstein in Design & Solutions says that this establishment is part of ULSTEIN’s long-term strategy.
Growing Ulstein Business In The Netherlands
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed at 27 April 2011, which outlines the main principles of how Norwegian Ulstein Group and Netherlands based IDEA Heavy Equipment are joining forces. The companies have entered into an MOU which will lead to an operational business in the Netherlands by the first of July 2011. A new company will be established under the name “Ulstein IDEA Equipment Solutions b.v.” which combines ULSTEIN’s offshore vessel design, marine equipment packages…

Ulstein Group Enters Letter of Intent with Sea of Solutions
A letter of intent was signed on the 5th of September 2007, in respect of the contemplated acquisition of a majority stake by the Ulstein Group in Netherlands based Sea of Solutions as per January 2008. The deal is subject to a positive outcome of the Due Diligence process. Managing director Tore Ulstein of Ulstein International pointed to the similarities between Sea of Solutions and the Ulstein Group, and Bob Rietveldt, commercial director of Sea of Solutions, said that joining the Ulstein Group will allow Sea of Solutions to grow. The Ulstein Group and Sea of Solutions are both part of strong national maritime clusters: Ulstein at Sunnmøre, Norway, and Sea of Solutions in the Dutch Maritime cluster.
