Bollinger Shipyards Deliver DP 2 Tugboat to Crowley Maritime

Bollinger Shipyards have delivered the DP 2 classed 'Ocean Sky', the fourth of four Ocean-class tugs for Crowley Maritime Corporation. The first two Ocean Class vessels, the Ocean Wave and Ocean Wind, classed as DP1, were delivered in Q4 2012. Ocean Sky, sister vessel to the Ocean Sun, was delivered in May 2013. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the Ocean Wave, the first of four “Ocean” class tugs, to Crowley Maritime Corporation. “We are extremely proud of our Ocean Class team and the delivery of the first in class tug, Ocean Wave, said Chris Bollinger, executive vice president of Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. The Ocean Wave is the first of the Ocean class tugs and is the first of two 10,880 BHP tugs that are featured with DP1 capabilities.

Bollinger Delivers 55,000 Barrel OPA'90 Tank Barget To Bouchard. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the B. No. 250, a newly designed and constructed 55,000 barrel OPA’90 compliant tank barge to Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc., Melville, NY. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Two More High-Bollard-Pull Ocean Tugs for Crowley

Crowley Maritime Corporation's vessel construction boom is continuing with its recent order of two additional high-bollard-pull Ocean Class tugboats from Bollinger Shipyards. The latest contract brings the number of new 10,880-horsepower tugs being constructed for Crowley to four, and adds to the more than $1b the company is investing in new tugs, high-capacity barges and articulated tug barge tank vessels (ATBs). Bollinger Gets Safety Awards from SCA & NSC

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has received awards for Excellence in Safety, Improvements in Safety, and Occupational Safety awards from two industry groups. The Award for Excellence in Safety and the Award for Improvement in Safety for 2009 were presented to Bollinger by the Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA). The awards were received during the association’s April 26-28, 2010 general membership meeting held in Washington, D.C. The Award for Excellence in Safety is given to member companies who have an end-of-year Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) that is below the average SCA rate.

Crowley’s Ocean Class Tug Building Program

Crowley has signed a contract with Bollinger Shipyards to build two newly designed ocean going tugboats, with options for additional vessels. These 10,880-horsepower tugs are the beginning of a new-build program at Crowley to further enhance its ocean towing, salvage and offshore support capabilities. The new tugs will be ideally suited to work with Crowley's new 455 series heavy lift deck barges, which measure 400 ft by 105 ft and offer increased stability for loads up to 4,200 pounds per square foot.

Bollinger Delivers 55K BBL Tank Barge

Lockport, La., Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the M 6000, a 55,000 barrel (bbl) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) compliant tank barge, to Midstream Fuel Service, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin Resource Management Corporation. Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. The 55,000 bbl tank barge, M 6000, was built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, La. and is a Bollinger design. The M 6000 is a clean oil barge that is classed and certified ABS + A1 Oil Tank Barge, Manned Ocean Services.

Bollinger Delivers 80,000 BBL Tank Barge

Lockport, La., Bollinger Gretna, L.L.C. of Harvey, La., a Bollinger shipyard, has delivered B. No. 284, a double hull 80,000 bbl oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) to Bouchard Ocean Services, Melville, N.Y. Barge B. No. 284 is a manned ocean, clean oil tank barge measuring 399-ft, 11-inches long, with a 74-ft beam and a depth of 28-ft, 6-inches. The barge is built to, and certified by, American Bureau of Shipping and United States Coast Guard to meet the requirements of OPA’90 with 12 cargo compartments and three separate pumping systems.

Bollinger and Martin Midstream Sign Contract for Tank Barge

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has signed a contract for the design and new construction of a 55,000 barrel (BBL) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) compliant tank barge, with Martin Midstream Partners, LP. Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. The announcement was made by Bollinger executive vice president of new construction, Chris Bollinger. The 55,000 BBL tank barge, M 6000, will be built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, Louisiana.

BMF Delivers RTC 26 and RTC 27

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., (BMF) Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the RTC 26 and RTC 27, double hull, oil tank barges built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90), to Reinauer Transportation Companies, L.L.C., Staten Island, N.Y. Following the delivery of the RTC 26 and RTC 27, Bollinger announced the signing of a sister ship, Bollinger hull number 543, scheduled for delivery in the 4th quarter of 2008. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Bollinger, Bouchard Sign Deal for Three

Work in progress at one of Bollinger’s OPA’90 barge building facilities continues on schedule, as the backlog increases with the signing of two 60,000 and one 80,000 BBL offshore units for Bouchard. Bollinger Gretna, L.L.C., and Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., two Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. facilities, have signed contracts for new construction of three OPA’90 compliant tank barges, consisting of one (1) 80,000, and two (2) 60,000 barrel (BBL) units for Bouchard Ocean Services, L.L.C., Melville, N.Y.

Bollinger to Build Double Hull Barge for K-Sea

Bollinger Delivers for Bouchard

The Bollinger built 35,000 BBL tank barge B. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C. delivered B. No. 231, the first of two double hull, 35,000 barrel (BBL) oil tank barge units built to meet OPA’90 requirements to Bouchard Coastwise Management. Morton S. Bouchard III, president and CEO of Bouchard Affiliates, said “The delivery of the B. No. 231 is another step forward for Bouchard, and our commitment to our customers to provide the highest quality equipment that meets their changing needs. The B. No. 231 is a manned, clean oil, oceans tank barge measuring 300-ft. long, with a 64-ft. beam and a depth of 21-ft.. The barge has ten cargo tanks, with Byron Jackson cargo pumps, driven by John Deere engines.

Bollinger Delivers Barge to Progressive

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., (BMF) Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered to Progressive Barge Line, Inc., Westwego, La., its first new leading edge double hull OPA’90 Lakes, Bays and Sounds tank barge. Barge PBL 3002 measures 297.6-feet in length, 54.0-foot beam and 13.0-foot depth, with a rated capacity of 28,300 barrels (BBL). Elliot Bay Design Group performed the design and engineering package in support of Bollinger. PBL 3002 departed the Bollinger Amelia facility on October 31st and towed directly to the Progressive Westwego terminal to commence bunkering services on the Mississippi River, throughout the port of New Orleans and the Intracoastal Canal Waterway.

Bollinger Inks Two Contracts with Moran Towing

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. of Lockport, La., and Moran Towing Corp., New Canaan, Ct., signed contracts for Bollinger to build one 14,500 short ton bulk barge and one 60,000 barrel Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) double-hull, ocean-going barge. The large bulk barge will be similar to the three bulk barges currently in the Moran fleet, Bridgeport, Somerset and Portsmouth. The barge will be able to carry a wide range of products, including petroleum coke, coal, fertilizers, grains, scrap metal, steel plates, steel coils, sugar, crushed glass and numerous other commodities, as well as finished goods for a variety of long-term and spot customers. The bulk barge will be classed unmanned ocean service with dimensions of 418.5-ft. x 75-ft. x 29-ft.

DBL 28 the 1st in a series of eight OPA’90 compliant, Lakes, Bays & Sounds, ABS and USCG certified tank barges delivered from Bollinger to K-Sea Transportation for use in harbor service in ports on the Northeast U. S. Coast. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, LLC, (BMF) Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the DBL 28, a double hull, oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90), to K-Sea Transportation Partners L.P, Staten Island, N.Y. Following the delivery of the DBL 28, Bollinger announced the signing of four sister ships. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The 28,000 BBL capacity DBL 28 measures 297.6-feet in length, with a 54-foot beam and 13-foot depth.

Stemming from the shipyard's growth are five contracts for 17 specialized large barges ranging in sizes from 240 to 365 ft. Some were recently delivered, while others will be sent off before year-end 2000.
