BSP Contracts AqualisBraemar

Oil & natural gas company Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) has awarded AqualisBraemar a frame agreement to conduct rig inspection services for the operator.The agreement is valid for three years with an option to extend the contract for additional periods of three times one year, said the Norway-based global company that provides, through its subsidiaries and associates, consultancy services to the energy, marine and insurance sectors.Oslo-listed AqualisBraemar – a result of the recent unification between Aqualis Offshore and Braemar Technical Services – will provide rig inspection services, engineering and training services to Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP).AqualisBraemar will manage the contract out of its office in Malaysia…

Aqualis completes Braemar Acquisition

Offshore engineering consultant Aqualis has completed the acquisition of the London-based Braemar Shipping Services' offshore, adjusting and marine consultancy business Braemar Technical Services (BTS).The new company, called AqualisBraemar, said it will benefit from access to new capabilities, a broader suite of services, a bigger workforce and increased geographical footprint. “I have looked forward to this day. Braemar Shipping Services Adds New LNGC 'LNG Schneeweisschen'

Braemar Shipping Services announced the successful delivery of the 180,000m3 Liquid Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) called “LNG Schneeweisschen” from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), South Korea, as part of the ongoing LNGC newbuilding project between Uniper Global Commodities SE (Uniper) and Braemar.The international provider of broking, financial, consultancy, technical and logistics services to the shipping, marine, energy, offshore and insurance industries said that the vessel has been built for Japan based owners, MOL, and may be provided to Uniper under a 20 year transportation agreement.Braemar has worked as the commercial (Braemar ACM) and technical (the engineering business within Braemar Technical Services) consultant for Uniper throughout this project…

Wood Wins LNG Platform FEED Contract

The Honghua Group Limited has awarded a $12 million front-end engineering design (FEED) contract to Wood for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) platform development in the West Delta area of the Gulf of Mexico. The main objective of the FEED is to finalize the design of the world’s first offshore platform-based natural gas liquefaction and storage facility. Wood recently completed the pre-FEED for this project. Wood’s scope of work includes the onshore gas pre-treatment plant configuration and layouts, general utilities, feed gas processing and compression, and transportation and delivery via repurposed pipelines from the existing onshore Toca and Venice, Louisiana, facilities to the LNG facility 10 miles offshore.

BV Approves Braemar’s LNG Containment System

Braemar Technical Services announced that Bureau Veritas (BV) has issued a General Design Approval for the FSP Type B LNG Containment System (FSP). Starting with the General Dynamics NASSCO-patented tank design, for which the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Lloyd’s Register had issued Approval in Principle (AiP) several years prior, Braemar engineered a new and improved containment system that meets the demands of LNG storage in marine, offshore and onshore applications.

Braemar Earnings Boosted by 'Rena' Operations

Braemar Shipping Services, international provider of shipping, marine & energy services, issues interim financial statement. The interim management statement refers in relation to the period since the announcement of the interim results on 30 October 2012. Revenue from the Environmental division was boosted by £15-million in the first half by the work on the MSC Rena in New Zealand. In the third quarter revenue from work on the container shipwreck reduced faster than expected, to £3.4m. Braemar's involvement in this project is expected to be completed by the financial year end. The Shipbroking division continues to face challenging conditions, with excess shipping capacity in most sectors affecting values and rates.

Braemar: Interim Management Statement

Braemar Shipping Services plc, (“Braemar”), an international provider of shipping, marine and energy services, today issues its interim management statement in relation to the period since the announcement of the interim results on 30 October 2012. The Shipbroking division continues to face challenging conditions, with excess shipping capacity in most sectors affecting values and rates. An increasing proportion of Braemar’s business is now done on the spot market. There were no significant changes in the market conditions in the past three months. Braemar Technical Services performed in line with management’s expectations. It continues to develop its position as a global provider of surveying, adjusting and engineering services to the energy, shipping and insurance sectors.

Braemar: Interim Management Statement

Braemar Shipping Services plc today issues its interim management statement in relation to the period since the announcement of the interim results on 25 October 2011. Over the past few months activity in the Shipbroking division has increased. The Group has seen good levels of spot chartering business particularly in deep sea tankers and in capesize bulk carriers. The specialised tanker chartering desks are also performing well, having secured long term contract business and good prospects of increasing their transaction volumes in the new financial year, beginning 1 March. Our second hand sale and purchase and demolition business has been more active than in the summer, stimulated by the fall in the value of middle-aged ships in most sectors.
