DOF, Solstad Offshore Win PSV Deals in Norway, Brazil

Norwegian offshore vessel owners DOF and Solstad on Monday said they'd secured vessel work in Norway and Brazil, respectively.DOF said that Norway's Equinor Energy AS had exercised its option to extend the firm period of the contract for Skandi Flora platform supply vessel by one year. Petrobras Awards $70M Deal to DOF's Brazilian Subsidiaries

Brazilian oil company Petrobras has awarded service contracts to DOF's Brazilian subsidiaries to Norskan Offshore Ltda. and DOF Subsea Serviços Brasil Ltda.The contracts are for the Skandi Iguazu AHTS vessel including ROV. The contracts will start in the fourth quarter of 2022 and will have a duration of three years. Petrobras will have options to extend the contracts for two more years. The total contract value for the firm period is about 70 million.

DOF Wins $260M in AHTS, ROV Deals with Petrobras in Brazil

Oslo-listed offshore vessel operator DOF has, through its Brazilian subsidiaries, won new long-term charter and service contracts with Petrobras for four AHTS vessels and ROVs. The vessels, Skandi Angra, Skandi Paraty, Skandi Urca, and Skandi Fluminense, (AHTS 18000 class), currently operating for Petrobras and equipped with DOF Subsea's work class ROVs, have been contracted for 3 years firm + 2 years options with Petrobras. The gross value of the contracts is around $260 million and with a planned start-up in the fourth quarter of 2022. The contracts have been awarded to DOF's subsidiaries Norskan Offshore Ltda. and DOF Subsea Serviços Brasil Ltda.

Petrobras Starts Oil and Gas Production from First of Four Mero Field FPSOs

Oil and gas production has started from FPSO Guanabara offshore Brazil, the first definitive production system installed in the Petrobras-operated Mero field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. Keppel Wins FPSO, FSRU Contracts

Equinor Extends Prosafe Deal

Semi-submersible firm Prosafe said that it has been offered a month extension for the Safe Boreas charter contract at the Mariner project by operator Equinor."Equinor UK Limited (formerly Statoil (UK) Limited) has exercised the first of six one-month options to extend the charter of the Safe Boreas. The total value of the option is USD 6 million," said a press statement.In early August 2017, the Safe Boreas commenced a 13 month firm operational period at Mariner in the UK sector of the North Sea. The firm operational period will now continue through to early October 2018.Prosafe is a leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation vessels.

Rolls-Royce Wins Order for MTU Engines in Brazil

Rolls-Royce said it has won an order to supply MTU engines for four new tugs for Aliança Navegação, a company owned by the Hamburg Süd shipping line. The shipping company uses 16-cylinder MTU Series 4000 propulsion systems throughout its Brazilian tugboat fleet consisting of seven harbor tugs, two of which are deployed in São Francisco in the north of Santa Catarina. The remaining five tugboats are still to undergo commissioning.All tugs are being built by Detroit Brasil Ltda.

Offshore Brazil: Production Starts at FPSO Unit

In February, a second floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO)* unit deployed by NYK for the BM-S-11 consortium through a joint venture company started oil production in a pre-salt area off Brazil. This FPSO unit, FPSO Cidade de Marica, is owned by a shareholder consortium comprising SBM Offshore N.V. (Netherlands), Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás S.A. (Brazil), and a joint venture company between NYK (48.72 percent; head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Tadaaki Naito) and the Mitsubishi Corporation (51.28 percent; head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president & CEO: Ken Kobayashi). The joint venture has a 20-year time charter contract with Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) to operate the FSPO.

MHI Subsidiary in Brazil for FPSO Compressors

In December Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), a Group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) based in Hiroshima, will establish a new company in Brazil in a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), to be known as MHI Compressor do Brasil Ltda. (MCO-B). Creation of the new entity, which will launch commercial operations in February 2016, is targeted at developing the Latin American market for compressors, with a focus on expanding sales of compressors for use in Floating Production, Storage and Offloading systems (FPSO), a market expected to see robust demand as Brazil develops deepwater oil fields. Initially MCO-B will perform sales and after-sale servicing functions, with local manufacturing capability targeted for the future.

SBM Offshore Completes $1.55 bln FPSO Financing

SBM Offshore announced it has today completed the project financing of FPSO Cidade de Saquarema for a total of $1.55 billion, marking the largest project financing in the company's history. Project financing was secured by a consortium of 16 international banks with insurance cover from four Export Credit Agencies (ECA): Atradius Dutch State Business N.V. (Atradius), Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI), Servizi Assicurativi del Commercio Estero S.p.A. (SACE) and UK Export Finance (UKEF). The facility is composed of three separate tranches totaling $1.55 billion with a 5.1 percent weighted average cost of debt and fourteen year post-completion maturity: Atradius covered tranche of $800 million including SACE $167 million and UKEF $53 million…

MOL Joins Project to Mark Anniversary of Japan, Brazil Treaty

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. today announced that MOL cooperated in the transport of the “Tachinepta” float (*1) Samba Carnival (*2) Components of the float, weighing about 5 tons in all, were placed into 15 containers and loaded aboard an MOL-operated containership. The vessel departed the Port of Shimizu on November 25, 2014, and arrived at Santos, Brazil on January 7. The Tachinepta was then assembled by craftspeople who traveled to the site from Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. When the magnificent float was completed for the opening of the Carnival on February 13, it measured more than  featured in the  that began in Sao Paulo, Brazil on February 13. The year 2015 marks the 120th anniversary for signing the Treaty of Amity, Commerce and Navigation between Japan and Brazil.

Brazilian PSVs Get Rolls-Royce Offshore Cranes

Rolls-Royce signed a contract with Detroit Chile SA to supply offshore cranes to nine Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) presently under construction at Detroit Brasil Ltda. shipyard, in Itajaì, Brazil. The delivery will include nine ship sets of the dual draglink crane, making eighteen cranes in total. Upon completion, the vessels, designed by Guido Perla, will enter service on an eight-year contract with state-owned Brazilian oil company Petrobras. Brazilian Starnav Serviços Marìtimos Ltda, a subsidiary of Detroit Chile, will operate the vessels.

Third RAmparts 2500 Tug for SMIT-Rebras

Keppel Singmarine BrasilLtda. (KSMB), of Navegantes, Brazil has recently completed the construction of the SMIT Panará, the third of a series of six Robert Allan Ltd. designed RAmparts 2500 tugs, for SMIT Rebocadores do Brasil (Rebras), of Rio de Janeiro. The SMIT Panará was delivered in May of 2014, and follows its sisters, the SMIT Pataxóand the SMIT Pareci. The RAmparts Series is a standardized Z-drive tug design which was developed from a prototype vessel and refined to emphasize ease of construction and owners’ specific requirements.

Designers Robert Allan inform that Keppel Singmarine Brasil Ltda. (KSMB), of Navegantes, Brazil have recently completed the construction of the 24m LOA 'SMIT Pareci', the second of a series of six Robert Allan designed RAmparts 2500 tugs, for SMIT Rebocadores do Brasil (Rebras), of Rio de Janeiro. The designers explain that the RAmparts Class tugs are a series of proven, standardized Z-drive tug designs. Each of these designs has been developed from a successful prototype vessel or series of vessels, and refined to emphasize ease of construction and Owners’ specific requirements.

Petrobas FPSO Goes Onstream Offshore Brazil

FPSO 'Cidade de Paraty' went onstream to begin commercial production in the Santos Basin Lula Nordeste pre-salt. Cidade de Paraty is a FPSO platform (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading) vessel anchored at a water depth of 2,120 meters, some 300 km off the coast and has the capacity to process up to 120,000 barrels of oil and 5 million cubic meters of gas per day. The 7-LL-11-RJS, the first well to be connected to the platform, has the potential to produce 25,000 barrels per day. However, output in the first month of operation will be restricted to 13,000 barrels of oil per day, and ramped up as natural gas processing and reinjection systems are commissioned. The Lula Nordeste field produces high quality, medium density (29º API) crude which will be taken off by tankers.

Rolls-Royce Plc signed a contract with Detroit Chile SA for the delivery of offshore cranes to four platform supply vessels (PSVs) under construction at Detroit Brasil Ltda. shipyard, in Itajaì, Brazil. The delivery from Rolls-Royce will include four ship sets of the award winning dual draglink crane - eight cranes in total. Upon completion, the vessels designed by Guido Perla, will enter service on an eight-year contract with the state owned Brazilian oil company Petrobras. Brazilian Starnav Serviços Marìtimos Ltda, a subsidiary of Detroit Chile SA, will be operating the vessels. Rolls-Royce Marine H1 2013 Strong Revenue Increase

Revenue increased by 16%, reflecting OE volume from improvement in the Offshore sector, services growth in Offshore and Naval and foreign exchange benefits. However profit decreased by 8% due to adverse revenue mix, pricing pressures and warranty charges, partially offset by cost reduction and favourable foreign exchange. The order book increased 10% including an order intake of £1.7bn (£2.2bn in H1 2012). Eastern recently delivered M/V HOS Red Dawn and christened M/V HOS Renaissance, both for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. HOS Red Dawn (H201) – now delivered – was launched on February 15, 2013. HOS Red Rock (H202) was launched April 19, 2013, and is currently at Eastern completing final outfitting, regulatory and DP-2 trials.
