David Roodenburg Takes Over as Huisman CEO

David Roodenburg is the third generation from the Roodenburg family to become CEO of the Netherlands-based equipment manufacturer Huisman.His father, Joop Roodenburg, is currently active as President after he appointed Theo Bruijninckx CEO in April 2018, with the objective to prepare the company for the next generation. Bruijninckx will remain active in Huisman in his role as the company’s CFO.Since 1980, Huisman has been owned and led by the Roodenburg family, growing from 20 employees to 2,000 to date.

Hoover Container Solutions Opens Facility in Brazil

Hoover Container Solutions, a global provider of chemical tanks, cargo carrying units and related products and services, opened its new service facility in Brazil. The wash line facility allows Hoover to provide expanded cleaning services while handling all intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), ISO tanks and offshore equipment destined for oil and gas platforms, mining sites, islands and supply bases in the region, Hoover said. Hoover’s new facility is equipped with experienced staff licensed to clean a wide variety of hazardous and nonhazardous materials.

Huisman Brazil Receives First Order

Huisman, one of the worldwide specialist in lifting, drilling and subsea solutions, has received a first order for their new production facility in Brazil. The new order includes three sets of five cranes, which will be manufactured as soon as construction of the Brazilian production facility is completed in 2014. The sets of cranes are scheduled for delivery between Q3 2015 and Q1 2017. The order includes three identical sets of cranes for the new build vessels Cassino, Curumim and Salinas.

Cat Power Solutions Certified to Meet Brazil's Standards

Caterpillar announced that the RBNA Classification Society has certified the Cat 3500C diesel electric propulsion generator set packages to meet local content regulations in Brazil. RBNA, a division of ANP, certified that the 3500C products meet in excess of sixty percent local content. As announced previously, Caterpillar expanded operations in Brazil in third quarter 2011 to package marine and oil and gas products in the Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil facility. “As we continue to expand our marine and petroleum operations in Brazil, a central strategic goal we have is to maximize our local content,” said Gregg Macdonald, Brazil 3500 Program Manager.

LeTourneau Tech Signs $185m Construction

Rowan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: RDC) announced today that its manufacturing subsidiary, LeTourneau Technologies, Inc. (LTI) has signed contracts valued at approximately $185m with a Brazilian construction consortium to provide the rig kit, rig design and drilling equipment for two LeTourneau Super 116E jack-up rigs. The two Super 116E jack-up rigs are to be built at Petrobras' Maragojipe, Bahia, Brazil facility by the Consorcio Rio Paraguacu. The rig kits will be substantially delivered in 2009 while most of the drilling equipment will be provided in 2010. The Super 116E Class is one of five current LTI jack-up rig designs, and is an evolution of LTI's industry workhorse 116-C Class design. The Super 116E provides for up to 2,000 kip greater payload than its predecessor.
