Bruun Takes the Helm at KVH Industries

KVH Industries, Inc., announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Brent C. Bruun as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board. The Board also appointed two seasoned industry executives, David Kagan and David Tolley, as directors of KVH.Bruun first joined KVH in 2008 and has served as KVH’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2022. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of KVH beginning in 2016, as well as Interim Chief Financial Officer of the Company.

KVH Industries Opens Office in Japan

Tokyo, Japan, is the Newest Global Location for the Middletown, RI-Based Technology Company. KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq:KVHI) has opened an office in Tokyo to further strengthen KVH's position in the market and to provide additional support to its Japanese partners. The opening of the KVH Industries Japan Co., Ltd., office reflects the growing market in Japan for KVH's maritime satellite communications solutions, which include the mini-VSAT Broadband(SM) service -- the world's leading maritime VSAT choice -- and the award-winning TracPhone(R) satellite communications systems. KVH Industries' Japanese partners include SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, which provides the mini-VSAT Broadband service under the OceanBB brand name, as well as Furuno Electric Co., Ltd., and Japan Radio Co.

MOL (LNG) Selects KVH TracPhone V7 for LNG Tankers

Following a successful trial on its liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers, MOL LNG Transport Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, is adding the award-winning TracPhone(R) V7 satellite communications system from KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq:KVHI) to three of its LNG tankers. The systems will use KVH's global mini-VSAT Broadband(SM) service, which is being provided by KVH's partner, SKY Perfect JSAT, under the OceanBB brand name. SKY Perfect JSAT is working with Japan Radio Co., Ltd., a prominent Japanese navigation and communications equipment manufacturer, who is providing, installing, and integrating the TracPhone V7 antennas through a wholesale agreement with KVH. The TracPhone V7 was installed for a trial on one of MOL LNG Transport Co.'s LNG tankers in May 2011.

KVH Expands Coverage to Africa

KVH Industries (NASDAQ:KVHI) announced the successful activation of its mini-VSAT Broadband(SM) service in Africa. The latest step in the joint effort by KVH and ViaSat to offer a seamless global broadband network for vessels and aircraft, the new African coverage area is using the Telesat 11N satellite, which has already been supporting Atlantic service. The network is now bringing broadband Internet and voice service for commercial and leisure boaters in and around Africa.   "We are thrilled to kick off the new year by bringing our African coverage online," said Brent C.  Bruun, KVH's vice president of sales and business development.   (www.kvh.com)

KVH mini-VSAT Broadband Service

As part of its global network expansion plan, KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) announced that it has taken operational responsibility of the mini-VSAT Broadband service network supporting North America and the Caribbean. These regions were previously managed under a revenue sharing agreement with SES Americom. This arrangement has been terminated in favor of a leasing agreement with SES Americom for bandwidth on its AMC-21 and AMC-6 satellites. KVH also purchased the Miami satellite network hub that supports the Caribbean region from SES Americom. In addition, the company has applied for operating licenses in KVH’s name and has already been granted Special Temporary Authority by the FCC to continue operation of the mini-VSAT Broadband service in these areas without interruption.
