Interior Refit for Cunard's Queen Victoria

McCue Crafted Fit secured a repeat order from Cunard to refit the shops and art gallery on board its luxury liner, Queen Victoria. This follows the remastering of aspects of the Queen Mary 2 (QM2) in Hamburg, Germany in 2016. Britannia and UK P&I Clubs in Merger Talks

The boards of the Britannia Club and the UK P&I Club announced today that the two groups are in merger discussions.   The boards of the Clubs will now begin a process to determine whether the merger is possible and delivers appropriate benefit to their respective Memberships. Ultimately, the decision on whether to proceed with a merger will be decided by the Members at Special General Meetings to be convened later in the year.   The talks are concurrent with discussions between their managers, Thomas Miller and Tindall Riley, both international providers of insurance and professional services, which would also lead to a merger of the respective businesses should the Clubs decide to merge.

State of the P&I Market: As Stocks Drop, Rates Will Rise

The 13 P&I Clubs within the International Group continue to dominate the world market for shipowners' liability insurance despite increasing competition in recent years from fixed premium facilities. The development of the fixed premium market and, in particular, the rapid growth of the P&I account of the marine and energy syndicate 329 at Lloyd's led by Jonathan Jones, served to increase pressure on premium rating in recent years. World's Largest Mutual Marine Insurer Formed

The world's largest mutual marine insurer -- or Protection & Indemnity (P&I) Club -- is set to be created this summer after a management company acquisition. The manager of the Standard P&I Club reportedly will acquire the manager of the Britannia Club -- the third largest club -- with the intention of merging the two clubs.
