MacGregor Wins Chinese Shipyard Order

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has received an order from Wuhu Xinlian Shipyard in China for eight MacGregor dry bulk cement handling systems. The fully automated pneumatic systems will be installed on two 78m 12,000 bhp 150T BP anchor handling, tug, supply and oil recovery vessels and six 79m 4,000 dwt platform supply vessels. The contract includes system design and the delivery of key components, which will take place between August 2015 and January 2016. "The customer chose MacGregor's pneumatic dry bulk handling system because it offers high functionality and excellent reliability, important benefits supported by testimonials from other satisfied customers," says Francis Wong, head of Sales and Marketing at MacGregor Offshore Deck Machinery.

CargoFlexX Bags US Order for 6 Bulk Handling Systems

Netherlands-based cargo handling innovator CargoFlexX BV has secured a contract to deliver six dry bulk handling systems to the Gulf of Mexico. The dry bulk handling systems will be installed on-board the new SOLAS OSVs under construction for SEACOR Marine LLC’s new building program. The FlexXVac system is an alternative for the up to now often used conventional P-tank dry bulk handling systems, CargoFlexX xplains. As a result of the implementation of the FlexXVac system SEACOR Marine LLC will be able to carry 33% more of dry bulk on-board of the newbuildings, compared to the conventional setup, the manufacturer said. SEACOR Marine LLC will be the first U.S. Offshore Support Vessel operator with the FlexXVac system sailing in the Gulf of Mexico.

At the International Tug, Salvage and OSV Convention on June 19, Wilson Sons (Brazil) and Damen Shipyards Group (Netherlands) signed a contract for two Damen PSV 5000s. This contract further strengthens cooperation between the two companies, where Wilson Sons builds vessels locally using a Damen design, engineering and material package. The PSV 5000s, measuring 85 meters in length and 19 meters in width, will feature a diesel-electric propulsion line with DP2 station keeping capabilities.

Rolls-Royce To Supply 4 Designs And Vessel Systems To COSCO

COSCO Shipyard Group has announced that it has been awarded options by the Singapore-based Chellsea Group for the construction of four platform supply vessels designed by Rolls-Royce. With this contract, COSCO has ordered integrated design and equipment packages for a total of eight Rolls-Royce UT 771 WP platform supply vessels, with an option for further two. The first four are currently under construction, while the subsequent four are scheduled for delivery between the second quarter of 2016 and the first quarter of 2017. All eight vessels will be added to the fleet of two UT 755 LN vessels that are already in operation with Chellsea.

Chellsea Expands PSV Order from COSCO, Rolls-Royce

Cement Carrier Cargo Handling Orders for MacGregor

Two new 20,000 dwt cement carriers on order in China will feature advanced MacGregor cement handling systems. MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured an order with Shanhaiguan New Shipbuilding Industry in China for advanced bulk-handling systems for a pair of 20,000 dwt cement carriers on order for Singapore based Associated Bulk Carriers (ABC) which is a fully owned subsidiary of dry cargo shipowner Precious Shipping PCL, Thailand. Precious Shipping operates in the small handy-size sector of the tramp freight market. Rolls-Royce wins a £12 million order to design and equip two platform supply vessels (PSVs) to be built at Jiangsu Eastern Heavy Industries in China. Rolls-Royce UT 755 LN vessels are designed specifically for transporting solid and liquid cargo to and from offshore oil and gas platforms world wide. In addition to the design, Rolls-Royce will supply an extensive range of onboard equipment, including main engines, propulsion system, thrusters, automation and control systems, deck machinery, bulk handling systems, rudders, steering gears and shaft generators.

Cargotec has secured an order for a Siwertell ship unloader from Denmark's power company, Dong Energy; it will ensure a high-capacity unloading of wood pellets and coal for one of the most efficient power stations of its kind. Cargotec Nets Four OSV System Orders

MacGregor bulk handling systems are to be installed on four offshore support vessels (OSV) of various types under construction in Asia and Europe. In the last quarter of 2011 Cargotec secured contracts for MacGregor bulk handling systems for installation onboard four offshore support vessels (OSV) newbuildings belonging to two different owners; one in the UAE (two vessels) and the other in Spain (two vessels). At the end of November, Grandweld Shipyards in the United Arab Emirates ordered MacGregor bulk handling systems for two anchor-handling tug/supply (AHTS) vessels, hull Nos 389 and 390.

Rolls-Royce Wins $3.1 Million Contract

Rolls-Royce has landed a $3.1 million order from Ferguson Shipbuilders in Port Glasgow for an equipment package comprised of Rauma Brattvaag deck machinery, bulk handling systems and Tenfjord steering gear and rudders. The package has been ordered for a new 246 ft. (75 m) Stirling Shipping anchor handling tug-supply vessel (AHTS), which will be an enhanced version of M/V Stirling Iona, which was delivered by Ferguson earlier this year. The new AHTS will house an anchor handling and towing winch with a capacity of 380-tons pull; the winch will be the largest ever fitted to a U.K.-built ship by Brattvaag. With a gt of approximately 2,350 and a dynamic positioning system, the vessel is scheduled for a February 2002 delivery.

Rolls-Royce Marine Business Fast Growth in China

According to Rolls-Royce chief executive John Rose, Rolls-Royce has been increasing its marine business in China by more than 20 percent. Annually over recent years. The Rolls-Royce office in Shanghai is responsible for the company’s marine activity in China, including gas turbines, diesel engines, propellers, water jets, rudders steering gear and deck machinery. Recently, China Offshore Oil Corporation ordered seven supply vessels for which Rolls-Royce is supplying a range of marine equipment for five of them.
