Furuno’s new FI70 Instrument/Data Organizer aims to help manage all vessel data in a compact, single display. According to the manufacturer, the new unit is a powerhouse when it comes to taking in information from all the vessel's different sensors, processing it and then displaying it clearly and concisely. Raymarine Autopilot

Raymarine’s new Evolution EV-2 drive-by-wire autopilot system has been certified for use with SeaStar Solutions’ Optimus EPS and Optimus 360 electronics steering systems. Optimus EPS systems provide effortless electronic power steering, while Optimus 360 systems add 360-degree maneuvering capabilities using a joystick controller. Both use state-of-the-art CAN bus networking for steer-by-wire control. The Evolution EV-2 autopilot system delivers sharp course keeping and simple operation. Evolution’s innovative EV-2 sensor core connects directly to the Optimus CAN bus network.

Raymarine’s new Evolution EV-2 drive-by-wire autopilot system has been certified for use with SeaStar Solutions’ new Optimus EPS and Optimus 360 electronics steering systems. Optimus EPS systems provide effortless electronic power steering for outboard powerboats, while Optimus 360 systems add easy 360-degree maneuvering capabilities using an intuitive joystick controller. Over 200 Feet, Over 10,000 HP: McCall Builds Bigger

The US and global offshore industry are in the habit of watching what SEACOR Marine is building as this will invariably predict future goals for the industry. Just as all the company’s crewboats carry the McCall name, they also carry the imprints of Joe McCall’s constant search for excellence and innovation. Son of the McCall Boat founder, Joe McCall is today the Project Manager at SEACOR Marine, a subsidiary of SEACOR Holdings. With a long history in the development of the mono-hulled aluminum crew boats, McCall has been experimenting with an exciting group of catamarans in recent years. Now, while continuing that project, the firm has announced the building of four mono-hulled fast supply boats. The boats set new standards in size as has been expected by industry observers.

Meet the Wider 42 - Commercial

A planning boat that is light, fast and economical, yet has the usable deck area of a boat twice it’s size and the stability of a trimaran! Sounds too good to be true, well that was my initial reaction until I attended the Press launch in Italy of the “transformer” Wider 42. I call it transformer because that’s what it does. It can plane at speeds over 50 knots and when it stops, by pressing a button, in 12 secs it transforms the cockpit deck into an are twice its size. To ensure stability, two sponsons, one each side slide out from the hull to increase stability.

A Remotely Piloted Surface Vessel (RPSV) will be unveiled at the Navy League Air Sea and Space Exhibition Washington DC 26-28 March 2002 by Boston Whaler Commercial and Government Products Inc, a Brunswick Corporation boatbuilding division. Developed jointly by Boston Whaler, Global Atlantic Inc. and Smart boat Inc., the 15 foot fiberglass hull of the RPSV is propelled by a 2.5 litre V6 cylinder 175hp Mercury SportJet water jet giving a speed capability in excess of 40 knots. offered with a gasoline engine, a diesel or multi-fuel variant will be optional in the near future.
