NKT Nets Firm Order for Dogger Bank C Export Cables

Danish offshore cable supplier NKT has secured the high-voltage turnkey order for the Dogger Bank C, the third phase of what will be the world's largest offshore wind farm, in the UK.NKT had previously entered into a Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) as the main contractor for delivery and installation of high-voltage DC on- and offshore export cable systems for the Dogger Bank C.Now, the company has secured the contract award with the project owners Equinor (50%) and SSE Renewables (50%). The contract award is subject to Dogger Bank C reaching financial close in late 2021.

Prysmian Wraps Up DolWin3 Gig

Prysmian Group, the major player in energy and telecom cable systems industry,  has has announced that it commissioned the 900MW DolWin3 high voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore grid link in the German North Sea.Prysmian had secured this project in February 2013, with a contract awarded by Alstom Grid (now GE Grid GmbH) on behalf of the Dutch-German grid operator TenneT.DolWin3, the third offshore grid connection in the DolWin cluster, links the offshore converter platform DolWin Gamma, located approximately 85 kilometers offshore in the North Sea, to the German mainland.As a one-stop-shop service provider, Prysmian was responsible for the supply…

Ørsted Picks Hellenic Cables for UK Projects

Hellenic Cables, the provider of turnkey cable solutions for the offshore wind industry, has been awarded a contract to supply 23km of subsea cable to Ørsted, the global leader in offshore wind.The cable company, a subsidiary of Belgium giant Cenergy Holdings, said that Hellenic Cables Cablel will undertake the design, manufacture and testing of the 33kV inter–array submarine cable and will produce the cable in its integrated, submarine cables plant in Corinth, Greece delivering in early 2020. Prysmian Bags Dolwin5 Cabling

Oceanteam Shipping has acquired the remaining 48% stake in fellow Dutch firm Oceanwind and is now the sole owner of Oceanwind Cable Storage & Handling Solutions. OMM Launches New Business

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has launched a new survey and subsea business this week, which will focus on surveying, cable and structural subsea inspection and subsea engineering. Recently appointed Director of Survey and Subsea, Arron Burrows said this new business offers clients an all-inclusive “one stop shop” for cable solutions - with survey, inspection and final deliverables - and will mean an overall better service. The new business offers data analysis and management using the latest hardware and software technology to support cable-related works both onshore and offshore. This includes a geographic information system (GIS) suite complete with digital video data integration for annual inspection data integrity and remedial activity monitoring.
