NKT Nets Firm Order for Dogger Bank C Export Cables

Danish offshore cable supplier NKT has secured the high-voltage turnkey order for the Dogger Bank C, the third phase of what will be the world's largest offshore wind farm, in the UK.NKT had previously entered into a Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) as the main contractor for delivery and installation of high-voltage DC on- and offshore export cable systems for the Dogger Bank C.Now, the company has secured the contract award with the project owners Equinor (50%) and SSE Renewables (50%). The contract award is subject to Dogger Bank C reaching financial close in late 2021.

New Owners Take Over Polar King IMR Vessel

Oslo-listed offshore vessel owner GC Rieber Shipping said Tuesday it had delivered the Polar King inspection, maintenance, and repair vessel to its new owners.The delivery to new owners, who are yet to be named, comes following last week's announcement by GC Rieber that the vessel would be sold and that the proceeds would be used to repay the vessel's outstanding debt in full.The 110.6 meters long Polar King is on a charter (until September) with marine cable supplier Nexans.

GC Rieber Shipping Sells Polar King IMR Vessel

Oslo-listed offshore vessel owner GC Rieber Shipping has agreed to sell the Polar King inspection maintenance and repair vessel to an unnamed buyer.Due to the sale, an impairment of approximately USD 5 million for Polar King is expected to be recognized as per 30.06.2020. The Bergen-based company said that the proceeds from the sale would be used to repay the vessel's outstanding debt in full. Nexans to Deliver Cables for Giant Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland

French industrial cable supplier Nexans has been awarded a contract by SSE Renewables to deliver cables for the recently sanctioned 1,075 megawatt (MW) Seagreen offshore wind farm project.The contract calls for Nexans to design, manufacture and install the high voltage (HV) onshore and offshore export cables.Construction on the 1,075 megawatt (MW) project, which is located 27km off the coast of Angus, will start next year. When completed in 2022/23, Seagreen 1 will be Scotland's largest wind farm.Nexans' factory in Charleston, South Carolina, will supply the three 65 km offshore export cables.

Final Windfloat Atlantic Floating Wind Turbine Heads Offshore

The third - and final - floating wind turbine has been towed offshore as part of the Windfloat Atlantic project, located 20 km from Viana do Castelo on the Portuguese coast. The project, dubbed the first floating offshore wind farm in continental Europe, is operated by the Windplus consortium, consisting of EDP Renováveis (54.4%), Engie (25%), Repsol (19.4%) and Principle Power Inc. Draka Marine Cable Order for Royal Boskalis

Draka Offshore announced that Keppel Singmarine has selected Draka as a cable supplier for its production of Hull 362 for Royal Boskalis Westminster. The contract requires Draka to deliver the first batch of cable during first quarter 2011 which is being manufactured at the company's Asian marine cable manufacturing facility located in Suzhou, China. Royal Boskalis Westminster awarded Keppel Singmarine with the contract to construct a 522-ft long rock dumping fallpipe vessel first quarter 2010. The vessel will have a 24,000 ton carrying capacity, features propulsion machinery, special rock handling equipment, and a flexible fall pipe with an ROV for positioning.
