Laden LNG Tanker Bound for China is First from US Since March 2019

A liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker which loaded a cargo from the United States is currently heading to China, the first shipment since March 2019, according to shiptracking data from Refinitiv Eikon and Kpler on Monday.The tanker SK Resolute loaded the cargo from the Cameron LNG terminal on March 22 and was originally headed to Cristobal, Panama, according to shiptracking data from Refinitiv Eikon and data intelligence firm Kpler.It changed its destination to Tianjin in China on March 28 and is expected to arrive at the Chinese port on April 28, the data showed."It's heading to Tianjin, but taking a further route via the Cape of Good Hope which takes around 38 days compared with via the Panama Canal which takes around 25 days…

Sempra's Cameron LNG Terminal Ships First Cargo

Sempra Energy said on Friday the $10 billion Cameron liquefied natural gas export terminal in Louisiana had shipped its first cargo, making the plant the fourth big LNG export terminal to enter service in the United States.Mitsui & Co Ltd, one of the partners in the Cameron project, chartered the tanker, Marvel Crane, to pick up the commissioning cargo.It was not immediately clear where the vessel was headed.Sempra said commissioning cargos were a critical step in the start-up process. The plant is expected to get federal authorization to enter commercial operations in mid-2019.Natural gas use is growing fast around the world as countries seek to wean their industrial and power sectors off dirtier coal.There are three liquefaction trains at Cameron.

U.S. DOE Gives Preliminary Nod to Cameron, LA LNG Exports

Energy Department Conditionally Authorizes Cameron LNG to Export Liquefied Natural Gas. The Energy Department announced today that it has conditionally authorized Cameron LNG, LLC (Cameron) to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries that do not have a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States from the Cameron LNG Terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The Cameron application was next in the order of precedence after the Energy Department conditionally authorized additional volume from Freeport’s proposed LNG facility in November 2013. Aker Solutions, IHI Partnership on LNG Terminal

The Aker Solutions and IHI partnership has received a signed Notice of Substantial Completion for Sempra LNG's Cameron LNG liquefied natural gas (LNG) receipt terminal near Lake Charles, La. The Cameron LNG terminal project combined Aker Solutions' expertise in regasification engineering, construction management, commissioning and start-up with IHI's design and manufacturing knowledge of LNG storage and processing systems. Cameron LNG's first commissioning cargo arrived June 21. A subsequent delivery was made on June 30. The terminal is capable of processing 1.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (Bscf/d) of natural gas. Aker Industrial Constructors was responsible for construction management of many subcontracts as well as self-performing portions of direct hire construction work.

W&D Wins Two Contracts to Fill New Building

Washburn & Doughty signed contracts with Suderman & Young Towing and the Bay-Houston Towing to build each company one Robert Allan LTD designed Z-Tech 7500 Class Terminal/Escort Tug. The Z-Tech 7500 is a twin screw ASD ship-handling/escort tug, a 98.5 x 39.4 ft. vessel designed for berthing and unberthing large ships and for providing escort, emergency response, and fire-fighting capabilities in the vicinity of oil and LNG terminals. The tugs will be operated by the G&H Towing Company of , and will be used primarily at Sempra LNG’s Cameron LNG terminal.
