Royal IHC said it handed over the 3,000m³ trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Mont Mandara to Cameroon’s Port Authority of Douala (PAD) on August 20. The delivery completes the PAD fleet, following its acquisition of an IHC Beaver 50 cutter suction dredger and a DMC workboat in 2019.The new TSHD is an IHC Easydredge from IHC’s standardized range of dredging vessels suited for common maintenance and land reclamation projects. The Mont Mandara offers flexibility to PAD as it can be customized to adapt to its dedicated working environment.

The International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has been declared as the preferred bidder for the development, operations and management of the Port of Kribi in Cameroon for 25 years.Philippine government's  News Agency quoted ICTSI disclosure to the stock exchange saying that: "ICTSI has been declared preferred bidder for the concession of the development, operation and maintenance of the Multi-Purpose Terminal of the Port of Kribi by the Port Autonome de Kribi. Parties will now engage in exclusive concession contract negotiations ahead of final contract signature."The Port of Kribi, located in Cameroon, Central Africa, is a newly built port with deep draft.

Glencore, Suncor, ENI, Vitol all booking tankers; U.S. crude oil stocks at highest ever level for time of year. Traders are shipping West African crude to the United States to store the oil until prices recover, as the global glut forces them to source any tanks available and as seaborne cargoes are able to compete better on price with U.S. crude. Oil firms including Swiss-based Glencore, Italian energy major ENI and Canada's biggest oil company Suncor have lined up ships to take at least 10 million barrels of West African crude to North America, ship brokers say, with freight bookings and tanker tracking also showing the moves. The move reinvigorates a trade that had been largely shut off by the U.S.

The US Coast Guard said that, with the exception of certain named ports, it is imposing conditions of entry on vessels arriving in the United States after having called in Cameroon during the five previous port calls. Such vessels must: (1) have implemented Security Level 2 while in the Cameroon port; (2) have ensured that each access point to the vessel was guarded and that the guards had total visibility of the exterior of the vessel while in the Cameroon port; (3) have attempted to execute a Declaration of Security with the Cameroon port facility; (4) have logged all security actions undertaken in Cameroon; (5) report the actions taken to the cognizant USCG Captain of the Port prior to arrival in US waters…

Police, aid workers and government officials gathered in Benin's port of Cotonou on Tuesday to await a ship suspected to be carrying scores of child slaves. The Nigerian-registered MV Eterino has been at the center of a frantic international search since Benin alerted the world last week that it was carrying a suspected 180 children, sold by poor families to work for nothing in oil-rich Gabon.
