MacGregor to Equip USCG Polar Security Cutter

Marine equipment supplier MacGregor said it has received an order from shipbuilder VT Halter Marine to supply deck machinery and cargo handling equipment to the U.S. Coast Guard Polar Security Cutter (PSC) program. The order is booked into Cargotec’s fourth quarter 2019 order intake, with delivery planned to take place in the third quarter of 2021.According to MacGregor, the Scope of supply comprises anchor windlass, mooring winches and capstans, main towing winch, offshore cranes, oceanographic winch, hanger overhead crane and cargo access equipment.

Wärtsilä to Equip Knutsen LNG Carrier

Wärtsilä said it will provide an integrated propulsion and cargo handling solution for a new 30,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier being built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in South Korea on behalf of Norway based Knutsen OAS Shipping.Under a 12-year long term charter, the vessel, expected to be delivered during the first half of 2021, will be operated by Knutsen and chartered to Edison S.p.A, an Italian energy services provider. Kalmar Bags Chinese Reachstacker Order

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from China Railway Ürümqi Group Co., Ltd. to supply a total of 10 reachstackers. This order has been booked into Cargotec's second quarter 2018 order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2018. The Ürümqi Railway Bureau is located in the core economic zone of the One Belt and One Road initiative and its railway line is the key connecting bridge for the new economic trade link between Asia and Europe. MacGregorto Optimize Cargo Handling for 5 Container Ships

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has received an order to provide loose lashings for five 10,500 TEU Hapag-Lloyd container ships under construction in South Korea by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. This order builds on a previous contract, which MacGregor announced in September 2015, and completes the vessels optimised MacGregor cargo handling solution. The order was booked into first quarter 2016 order intake. The new container ships are scheduled for delivery to the German owner and operator between October 2016 and May 2017. The MacGregor cargo handling solution for container vessels will ensure that Hapag Lloyd will get the most cargo efficient containerships of its size in the world, optimised for the actual operation conditions.

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a comprehensive deck equipment contract from New Times Shipyard, in China, for Intership Navigation Co Ltd's three new 36,500 dwt Laker-class bulk carriers. The vessels will each feature an optimised MacGregor cargo-handling system comprising MacGregor cranes and hatch covers as well as Hatlapa steering gear and electrically-driven variable frequency drive (VFD) Hatlapa deck equipment. "The MacGregor team supported Intership with its cargo-handling solution development at a very early stage with planning sessions, technical layouts and budget pricing, so that the shipowner could present the new ship concept further to the charterer," explains Hans Berg, Account Manager for Intership at MacGregor.

China Navigation Orders MacGregor Machinery for Four New Vessels

China Navigation Company's (CNCo) four new Chief Class 22,000dwt multi-purpose vessels ordered from Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (Ouhua), on Zhoushan Island in China, will each feature three 60-ton variable frequency drive (VFD) MacGregor cranes and hydraulically-operated MacGregor hatch covers. The order was booked in the second quarter 2013 order intake. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in late 2014 and first quarter 2015 and the contract includes options for an additional 2+2 vessels. CNCo is the deep-sea ship-owning and operating arm of the Swire group of companies and is wholly-owned by the group's parent company, John Swire & Sons.

Cargotec Secures Large MacGregor RoRo Order

In October, Cargotec received a large order to deliver MacGregor RoRo cargo access equipment for four 45,000 dwt container/RoRo vessels for Italian container shipping specialist, Ignazio Messina & C. S.p.A. The ships will be built at the STX Jinhae shipyard in Korea and the MacGregor RoRo equipment will be delivered between the last quarter of 2013 and the second quarter of 2014. Each MacGregor shipset includes a quarter ramp, stern door, ramp covers and doors, division doors and a power pack. "RoRo equipment is an integral part of a vessel's cargo-handling capability," says Magnus Sjöberg, Sales Director for RoRo ships.

Cargotec Wins 25m in Orders

Cargotec has confirmed new orders worth around EUR 25 million to deliver MacGregor hatch covers, lashing bridges and fixed lashing gear for eleven 8,800 TEU container ships being built by Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering shipyard in South Korea. The MacGregor equipment will be delivered between mid-2012 and the end of 2013. The orders include an option for the delivery of MacGregor solutions for a further ten ships. "Hatch covers and lashing systems are an integral part of a container vessel's cargo-handling ability," says, Tommi Keskilohko, Sales Manager for Container ships. "Cargotec's early involvement in the project enabled it to design the most efficient and safe cargo handling solution possible.
