Two Damen Stan Pontoons for Silverburn

Silverburn Shipping Group has taken delivery of two Stan Pontoon 8916 ICE vessels. Capable of taking on diverse heavy transport duties, these ice-classed vessels are robust enough to operate in all seasons.Built for stock, the pontoons left Rotterdam earlier this week on the client’s own transport after a three-week delivery time. The two 89-metre long Stan Pontoons were built at one of Damen’s partner yards in China – Nantong Yahua Shipbuilding.Damen built and transported the vessels to the Netherlands on a speculative basis. “We could offer Silverburn a very quick turnaround because we had these pontoons on stock,” says Damen Sales Manager United Kingdom Casper Vermeulen.

Damen MultiCat for Scotmarine

Damen Shipyards Group delivered a Multi Cat 2613 on April 30, 2015 to Orkney, Scotland-based chartering company Scotmarine to be used for offshore tidal activities in Scotland’s Northern Isles. The hull of the new vessel was in stock and customized for the client earlier this year. The 50-metric-ton bollard pull vessel has a large crane and will replace the stock vessel Multi Cat Orcadia Scotmarine purchased three years ago. Scotmarine will deploy the new vessel in developing underwater tidal energy farms for Scot Renewables Tidal Power.

Severn Provider Ready for Offshore Markets

The naming ceremony took place today for Severn Offshore Services Ltd.’s new multipurpose wind farm vessel, Severn Provider, built at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in the Netherlands. Following sea trials next week, the Damen FCS 2610 will be available for charter based out of Rotterdam. UK-based Severn Offshore Services owns and operates a growing fleet of offshore crew transfer vessels, mainly in the European offshore wind sector. Severn Offshore Services puts a particularly strong focus on safety, so it was important that Damen could integrate key specifications into the design.

Damen Books Four More Twin Axe FCS 2610 Orders

Marineco UK placed another order for two more Damen FCS 2610 Twin Axe vessels to serve its offshore wind activities, and Sure Wind, a British company specializing in the German market and new customer for Damen, has ordered two as well. The Scottish company Marineco was the first customer for the Damen Twin Axe vessel, which has become the industry standard since its introduction just over two years ago. Marineco’s two new additions will be delivered in 2014. These vessels are identical to its fourth FCS 2610 Marineco Thunderbird…

GPS Marine Contracts Damen for Shoalbuster

Damen Shipyards Group announced the sale of a 27m workboat, a Damen Shoalbuster 2709 displayed on the pontoons at Southampton U.K.’s Seawork exhibition (June25-27), to GPS Marine of Chatham, U.K. Casper Vermeulen, Sales Manager Europe, commented, “The Managing Director of GPS Marine came on to the stand and made us an offer for the Shoalbuster displayed on the pontoons. After half an hour of negotiation, we shook hands. The vessel design, which is held on stock by Damen in Gorinchem(the Netherlands) and can be quickly modified to clients’ specifications…

Damen Shipyards Sells First Stan Tug 1205

British company Red7Marine has become the owner of Damen’s new Stan Tug 1205, the first in a new ship series which was only just unveiled to the market. Damen Shipyards had decided to show its new tug series at the Seawork Show held in Southampton in mid-June. But already on the second day of the international show the first Stan Tug 1205 was sold. “It is rare to sell a vessel directly at a show so we are delighted, especially because she had just come out of the yard,” said Casper Vermeulen, Damen Sales Manager Europe.
