Extended Well Test on Wressle Discovery Kicks Off

Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc, confirmed the commencement of an Extended Well Test at the Wressle-1 oil and gas well (‘Wressle’) in East Lincolnshire (‘PEDL 180’). This follows the successful testing earlier this year of four intervals at Wressle, which recovered a total of 710 barrels of oil equivalent per day from all four payzones. The start of testing operations marks a significant milestone for AIM firms Europa has a 33.3% working interest in PEDL180, alongside Egdon (operator, 25%), Celtique Energie Petroleum Ltd (33.3%), Union Jack Oil (8.3%). During initial testing, the Wressle-1 well produced oil and gas from three discrete reservoir intervals, the Ashover Grit, the Wingfield Flags, and two zones within the Penistone Flags.

Britain to Ban Fracking in National Parks

Britain said on Monday it would ban fracking in national parks, reversing a policy announced last year, in a concession to the opposition Labour Party which had called for tighter controls to be written into law. "We have agreed an outright ban on fracking in national parks, sites of special interest and areas of natural beauty," said junior energy minister Amber Rudd during a debate on new laws regulating the extraction process. Last year the government said fracking -- extracting gas and oil by pumping chemicals, sand and water at high pressure into underground rocks -- would be possible within national parks in exceptional circumstances. The government also accepted a Labour proposal to tighten several other rules governing when and where fracking would be permitted.

Egdon to Drill Kelsey-1

Egdon Resources plc has received consent of the Planning and Regulation Committee during the Meeting of Lincolnshire County Council yesterday. The planning consent was granted for the drilling and any subsequent testing of the North Kelsey-1 exploration well in Lincolnshire licence PEDL241. The North Kelsey Prospect is located approximately 10 kilometres to the south of the Wressle-1 discovery well in PEDL180. The prospect is defined on 3D seismic data and has potential for up to four stacked conventional reservoir intervals in the Chatsworth, Beacon Hill, Ravensthorpe and Santon sandstones. The gross mean combined Prospective Resources for these multiple objectives, as calculated by Egdon are estimated to be 6.7 million barrels of oil.

Update on Timing of Wressle-1 Well Testing

Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc, the AIM quoted oil and gas exploration and development company with a combination of producing and exploration assets in Europe informed about Egdon Resources' timing of operations to test potential hydrocarbon bearing zones in three separate reservoir intervals identified at the Wressle-1 exploration well. Wressle is located on the PEDL 180 licence in East Lincolnshire in which Europa has a 33.3% working interest, alongside its partners Egdon Resources (operator, 25%), Celtique Energie Petroleum Ltd (33.3%), Union Jack Oil (8.3%). Egdon advises that the Environment Agency (‘EA’) permit variation for testing operations was issued on 1 December 2014.
