Oil Tanker Hit by US Sanctions Heads to Texas for Unloading - Exxon

An oil tanker that the U.S. government imposed sanctions on for recently carrying Russian oil above the Western price cap is proceeding to the Baytown refinery in Texas for unloading, Exxon Mobil said on Tuesday.Exxon, the current charterer of the Yasa Golden Bosphorus, was not targeted by the sanctions last week since the oil producer chartered the tanker months after it had carried and offloaded Russian oil, a price cap coalition official after the U.S. imposed the sanctions on the tanker.The unloading by Exxon has been authorized by the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, the company said in a statement. The deliveries are certified products of Canadian origin, according to Exxon.The U.S.

Jotron Signs 18 Vessel Contract with Vard

Ecoslops Issues €5.5 Mln Bonds for Growth

Ecoslops, the first company to develop a technology to sustainably produce marine fuels from refined marine oil residues (‘slops’), has announced the successful issuance of ORNANE convertible bonds for the nominal value of €5.5 million. Following the commercial validation of its first micro-refining plant in the Port of Sinès, Portugal, the additional capital will be used to accelerate the development of new projects, while continuing to ramp up the initial operation to full capacity by the end of 2016. Gray Water & Bilge Water: Taking Steps to Clean Up the Ocean Environment

The fact that improperly-treated gray water pollution is still being dumped off ships in a so-called modern and highly-regulated shipping industry is hypocritical at best. Graywater – which comes from ship accommodation areas (shower/sink), laundry, galley and food pulper – can contain classical pollutants such as nonylphenols, metals, nutrients, surfactants, pathogens, oil, grease, detergent and soap residue. Graywater is sometimes mixed with sewage, depending on the ship design. Graywater can have varying levels of harmful contaminants.

EPA Award for Pentair

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Pentair's Aquatic Systems with a 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. Pentair's accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2015. Pentair, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2013 is being honored for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency. This is Pentair's second consecutive Partner of the Year award. In order for pool pumps to earn the ENERGY STAR certification, the pool pumps must be at least 30-72 percent more energy efficient than typical pumps.

Cummins Debuts Mobile Tier 4 Generators

Cummins’ certified Tier 4 Final QSB7 and QSL9 engine platforms form the basis for mobile generator sets that meet EPA regulations without diesel particulate filters (DPF).

U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final certified mobile generator sets with 150 kW to 275 kW power outputs are now available from Cummins Power Generation for the rental market. Cummins said it conducted extensive field research to develop a reliable, easy to operate and versatile product to meet the latest emissions regulations. The mobile generators have been thoroughly validated and are now available to rental operators and customers. The new units are based on the Cummins QSB7 and QSL9 engine platforms that have undergone extensive refinements to meet the stringent EPA Tier 4 Final regulations.

EU and US Associations Partner for Transatlantic Trade

SOR Switches Certified for SIL Environments

SOR® pressure and level switches are certified for use in IEC 61508 SIL applications. SOR announced today that the company’s line of pressure, differential pressure, temperature, vacuum and level switches have been certified fit for use in SIL (Safety Integrity Level) environments. SOR is one of only a few manufacturers in the industry to offer its entire range of switches certified to IEC 61508 safety standard. To obtain SIL certification, the products were assessed by FM Approvals per the requirements of IEC 61508 Parts 1, 2, and 3. Analytic Systems has announced that it has responded to its commercial marine reseller network in North America and started the process of certifying their marine specific power conversion products. These products will be highlighted at the Multi-Agency Combat Craft Conference at Norfolk, VA in May, 2012. The first models to be certified to ABS standards are the new BCA1505 (1500W AC charger); the BCA310 (300W AC charger); the IPS300 (300W DC/AC Puresine inverter) and the VTC315 (Isolated DC/DC voltage converter). Maersk Line Introduces Sustainable Container Floors

Today, Maersk Line announced a new policy to refrain from purchasing containers with floors made of uncertified tropical hardwood. “Illegal logging is widely recognised as a serious threat to forests, people and wildlife. We feel obligated to use our purchasing power to push for higher standards and ensure that the timber we use for container floors come from responsible forestry,” says Jacob Sterling, Head of Climate & Environment, Maersk Line. Chromalox Heating Cable Products Receive Safety Certification in India

PITTSBURGH, PA — [July 22, 2011] — Chromalox, a leading manufacturer of electric heat and control products, today  announced that its self-regulating heating cables utilizing EEXe and EEXd enclosures have been awarded the Product Safety Certification by the Chief Controller of Explosives (CCoE), India. This means that these Chromalox products may now be specified with confidence in India without the need for case-by-case certification. It also assists U.S. and European manufacturers who might utilize these products in assemblies that are being sold in India and require CCoE certification. The CCoE certification applies to the Chromalox line of SRM/E (Self-regulating Medium Temperature), SRL (Self-regulating Low Temperature) and heating units utilizing CES.

Metso Upgrades Valve Testing and Approvals

Metso is strengthening its product offering by certifying valve products according to the latest widely accepted fire-safe standard - API 607 6th edition. The plan is to replace all former fire-safe certificates and to widen the range of Metso fire-safe certified products in order to better serve our customers' needs and requirements and to expand the applications for our product range. At present, the testing plan applies mainly to Neles ball valves - such as the new D1F-, D2- and X-series valves - as well as L6-butterfly valves and Finetrol-valves.
