Oil and related shipments from Georgia's Black Sea port of Batumi in January were down 34 percent from a year earlier, an official at the terminal, operated by Kazakh KazMunaiGas , said on Thursday. The official gave no reason for the fall, but state company KazMunaiGas continued to reroute some shipments to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline this year. January shipments of crude oil and refined oil products from Batumi totalled 108,464 million tonnes, down from 164,218 tonnes a year earlier and 221,210 tonnes in December, said the official, who asked not to be identified.

Oil prices extended gains in post-settlement trading on Friday after Turkey's armed forces said they had taken power in the country to protect the democratic order and to maintain human rights. Supply outages across the world have led to crude prices rallying from 12-year lows touched earlier in the year. For the oil market, a military coup raises concerns of an impact to the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline, which runs from Iraq's Kirkuk oil fields to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan in Turkey. Azerbaijan's SOCAR shipped 593,449 tonnes of oil via Russia in the first five months of 2015, up from 423,644 tonnes in the same period last year, the state energy company said on Friday. SOCAR said in January it had signed a one-year contract with Russian oil pipeline operator Transneft to transport 1.7 million tonnes of oil through the Baku-Novorossiisk pipeline, up from 1.02 million tonnes in 2014. SOCAR had planned to halt oil exports via Russia in February 2014, opting instead to send the bulk of its crude through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and retaining some to cover rising domestic demand for oil products. The company reversed its plans later that month. Oil exports via Russia for the whole of 2013 totalled 1.75 million tonnes, down from 2.06 million in 2012.

A Georgian court has taken control of the Black Sea oil terminal at Batumi after a legal case brought by shipping operators, a port official said on Monday. The terminal is still operating but since Saturday has been under the control of the court which is dictating certain conditions about contracts, which plaintiffs said had been often changed by the owner-operator, Kazakh state energy company KazMunaiGas . Reuters was unable to reach KazMunaiGas for comment. "Yes, the property has been seized ... The terminal is working with some minor disruptions, but there is a risk that shipments may decline due to the situation," Batumi terminal Deputy Director Georgy Kiladze told Reuters. "There is no force majeure ... The terminal continues its work," he added.

Crude oil and refined oil product shipments from Georgia's Black Sea port of Batumi fell 22.7 percent in 2014 from a year earlier, a senior official at the terminal said on Monday. Bad weather in Kazakhstan, where the oil is produced, lower-than-expected output from the Kashagan oilfield at the beginning of the year and re-routing part of oil shipments to the Baku-Tbilisi Ceyhan pipeline contributed to the decline, said the official, who declined to be identified. The Batumi terminal, operated by Kazakh state energy company KazMunaiGas , shipped 4.355 million tonnes of oil and oil products last year, down from 5.634 million tonnes in 2013. Shipments in December were 441,675 tonnes, down from 457,033 tonnes in December 2013, but up from 423,940 tonnes in November.

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said on Monday 6.5 million barrels of Iraqi Kurdish crude oil had been shipped to world markets via Turkey's Ceyhan port since exports began and that a seventh tanker was being loaded at the terminal. Yildiz said crude flow on the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline had been halted as of Monday due to maintenance work. Flows through the 120,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) pipeline began at the end of 2013 but the first cargo was not loaded until May. The Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq, whose peshmerga forces are being supported by U.S. air strikes in their battle against the radical Sunni militants of the Islamic State, has been in a long constitutional fight with Baghdad over independent oil sales.

Russian Urals prices were steady on Tuesday as the market awaited Saudi Aramco's official selling prices for April, while Kazakh CPC Blend remained under pressure on ample supplies. There was no activity in the Platts window. Kazakh CPC Blend remained weak with buying interest coming at discounts to dated Brent while sellers offered over dated Brent plus 10 cents cif Augusta, above Monday's low deal, traders said. "There's a big overhang on CPC, a lot was added to the programme and everyone was covered already," one trader said. On Monday, the Kazakh CPC Blend differential fell after an updated loading programme was issued showing that March exports would be boosted to 3.26 million metric tons, up from the initial program of 3.02 million metric tons.

Reuters - Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR agreed with Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft on transportation tariff at $16 per metric ton, slightly up from a previous $15.67, to be shipped via Russia in 2014, SOCAR's official said. Adnan Ahmadzada, SOCAR's marketing and operations department head, told Reuters in an interview the tariff was fixed in Russian roubles and might change slightly depending on exchange rate fluctuations throughout the year. He said SOCAR was ready to ship 1.0-1.5 million metric tons of oil via Russia this year, reversing plans to halt exports in mid-February. "We also agreed that we would have an opportunity to ship additional transit volumes of oil from third parties," Ahmadzada said.

Tankers will begin loading oil tomorrow from the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline for the first time since a fire affected the main outlet for Azeri crude to and European markets almost three weeks ago, Bloomberg reported. The loadings follows repairs and testing after the pipe was closed on Aug. 5 when an explosion sparked a blaze on the 1,100-mile pipeline. The BTC carries as much as 1 million barrels of Azeri crude each day through to 's Mediterranean coast. The first tanker will take up to 15 hours to fill, depending on its size, Lecompte said in a phone interview. An average of two tankers are loaded daily when oil flows at normal levels. Azerbaijan plans to double its oil output by 2010, the country's energy minister said Wednesday. Azeri Energy Minister Natiq Aliyev said the Caspian nation's crude production, which stood at 32.3 million tons last year, would reach 65 million tons in 2010. Aliyev said most of the oil would be produced at the Azeri-Chiraq-Guneshli offshore fields. Another offshore field, the Shah Deniz gas project, will account for the bulk of the nation's natural gas output, which is expected to reach 30 billion cubic meters in 2010. Crude supplies began last year via the $4 billion Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline that allows the West to tap oil from the Caspian Sea fields.
