New Chemical Handling Service from Ferguson Group

Tank, Fluid Solutions and Bunded Storage for Dangerous Goods and Chemicals Introduced at Gap Ridge, Karratha. Ferguson Group Australia, global specialist in offshore DNV 2.7-1/EN12079 containers, tanks, refrigerated modules, engineering workspace and accommodation modules, has introduced a range of chemical services from its new base in Gap Ridge, Karratha WA. The purpose built base in Gap Ridge, Karratha was designed with integral chemical storage and handling facilities. Gap Ridge is within easy reach of ports, reducing the time taken to transport chemicals offshore.

WSS Delivers Automated Systems for Newbuilds

WSS delivers automated boiler and cooling water treatment for major customer. Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) has signed an agreement to supply boiler and cooling water dosing control units to ten 13,200 TEU newbuilds under construction at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Korea on behalf of Hapag-Lloyd. Integral to the boiler and cooling water circulation systems, the units monitor water conditions to ensure a controlled chemical dosing regime is applied in the correct proportions.

Swire Oilfield Services Acquires Weir

Supplier of specialist offshore cargo carrying units, Swire Oilfield Services, has announced the acquisition of the assets and operating business of Australia based Weir OCI, creating the largest regional supplier of offshore cargo carrying units (CCU) in the Australian and Asian region. Weir OCI is the company’s second Australian acquisition in the past year, and takes investment in the region to more than $25m. In August 2008 Swire Oilfield Services acquired Perth based Maritime Products & Services. The three companies together will now trade as Swire Oilfield Services Pty Ltd.
