Second Ferry Export for Wight Shipyard

UK shipbuilder Wight Shipyard Co has completed its second export order. The order placed by Ultramar, the largest ferry operator in Mexico, consists of two 37m fast ferries which will be transported to Cancun Mexico at the beginning of July.The critical issues for these newbuilds were timely delivery and the weight saving target that needed to be achieved. UK Seeks Maritime Dominance of Yore

“Britannia rules the waves” paid a glowing tribute to the maritime past of the United Kingdom. Over the past three centuries as the sun began to set on the British power, resilient U.K. with its pioneering characteristics began its voyage of transformation to become a world-class maritime services center, with one of the largest clusters of marine insurance, ship finance, law, classification societies, ship broking, education and consultancy organizations. Significantly, two factors were responsible for this change. The first being marine transport, since it was the only point of access to the British Isles, and the second was the maritime trade and naval power that have had a great impact on the maritime sector influencing the country’s economy for several centuries.

CJR Propulsion Acquires Oval Stainless

CJR Propulsion announced the completion of an agreement to purchase all commercial assets and intellectual property from leading stainless steel fabricator, Oval Stainless. In addition, the agreement includes the transfer of all current employees – helping to secure the continued employment of Oval's existing, highly-skilled team. VEEM Appoints SAIM Gyro Range Sales Agent

Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) earlier this year, VEEM Ltd. has now agreed territories and principle responsibilities with the Italian marine equipment distributor SAIM Group. SAIM Group will be responsible for increasing awareness of the Australian engineering firm’s latest developments in gyro stabilization technology, whilst driving sales of the latest VEEM Gyro products across Central Europe. Both VEEM and SAIM Group have established enviable reputations within their respective fields for the development and distribution of high quality marine equipment.
