ASNE to Host Gala and Navy Yard Tribute

Join the American Society of Naval Engineers on Thursday, February 20, for the Annual ASNE Honors Gala. A reception will open the night in the exhibit hall from 6-7, p.m., followed by the Awards Ceremony from 7-8:30. 2012 Annual ASNE Award Winners

Each year, the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) celebrates excellence in naval engineering by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more facets of the industry. 2012 Gold Medal Award (Engineering) Recipient - RADM Thomas J. Eccles, USN Presented annually since 1958, the Gold Medal is given to an individual who has made a significant naval engineering contribution in a particular area during the past five years. ASNE Seeks Nominations for Annual Awards

The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Annual Awards Program celebrates excellence in the profession by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more facets of naval engineering. •    The Harold E. •    The Frank G. •    The Claud A. •    The Frank C. •    The Clifford G. Geiger Award for naval logistics. Nominations may be submitted by individuals or by organizations. The deadline for submitting nominations is 15 November 2010.

NAVSEA Employees Recognized, ASNE Day 2010

Four Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) employees were recognized for engineering excellence, April 7-9, by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) at the society’s conference in Arlington, Va. NAVSEA’s Capt. Albert Grecco, Craig Brandenburg, Stephen Michetti, and Christopher C. Bassler received awards for their accomplishments. NAVSEA develops, delivers and maintains ships and systems on time and on cost for the United States Navy. ASNE will Remember Geiger, Naval Leader

ASNE Naval Logistics Symposium will include a memorial tribute to Clifford G. Geiger, Jr. Geiger was a former ASNE Vice President, longtime leader of the ASNE Logistics Committee and ASNE Gold Medal Award Winner who passed away on January 12, 2009. Geiger had a long and distinguished career in federal service with the U.S. Navy. Widely regarded for his expertise in the field of logistics; he rose to the highest rank for career executives and his positions included Senior Acquisition Logistician in the Naval Material Command, Deputy Commander for Fleet Logistics Support in the Naval Sea Systems Command and Assistant and Acting Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Logistics.
