Deltamarin Wins Design of Titanic II Project

Passenger and cargo shipping company Blue Star Line has contracted Deltamarin to continue with the design of Titanic II. The contract covers activities and tasks for the design process, consultancy and project management services.Deltamarin will provide Blue Star Line with outline design services including finalizing and modifying the existing design to comply with the latest rules and regulations. These include the SOLAS 2020 requirements and the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI).Deltamarin will also further develop the design together with the selected yard and Blue Star Line, and handle the management of consultations with potential shipyards.Blue Star Line Chairman Clive Palmer said Deltamarin was the perfect choice for the Titanic II project.

Titanic ll Model Tank Testing to be in Germany

Blue Star Line in conjunction with German hydrodynamic service and consulting company Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA) will next month be conducting the first model testing of the proposed 'Titanic II'. A 9.3m wooden model of Titanic II will be put through resistance and powering tests in a 300m long tank at HSVA’s Hamburg facilities in mid-September. Titanic II is scheduled to be launched from its construction base in China in 2016, before her maiden passenger voyage retracing the original journey from Southampton to New York.

Blue Star Line Chairman Clive Palmer appoints Lloyd’s Register to review design and safety features for the Titanic II project. Mr Palmer said Lloyd’s Register had more than 250 years’ experience with passenger ships and would review key design drawings, calculations and studies for Titanic II. He said the appointment of Lloyd’s Register further strengthened the team that had been assembled to deliver Titanic II in 2016. “I would like to welcome Lloyd’s Register to the Titanic II team and look forward to working closely with them on this landmark project,” Mr Palmer said.

Deltamarin Contracted for 'Titanic ll' Project Development

A full scale version of the original ship, is being designed by the Finland-based Deltamarin & will be built in China for Blue Star Line. Blue Star Line has undertaken the task of building Titanic II, a replica of the original RMS Titanic, which is scheduled to sail from Southampton to New York on her maiden passenger voyage in 2016. Titanic Replica Tycoon Hosts New York Dinner

Australian businessman and owner of Blue Star Cruise Line, Professor Clive Palmer, hosted the black-tie event aboard the retired 'USS Intrepid'. The organizers say that the event was attended by a who’s who of world leaders, senior diplomats and major political figures, who were treated to a lavish 11-course menu, first class entertainment and the unveiling of Titanic II blueprints. Titanic ll Blueprints Unveiled

Australian mining entrepreneur Clive Palmer intends the ship to largely recreate the design and decor of the ill-fated original. The original design of the Titanic will be modified to keep it in line with current safety rules and shipbuilding practices, and the addition of some modern comforts such as air conditioning, reports the China Daily. White Star Line, the operator of the original ship, had said the Titanic was designed to be unsinkable. Some 1,500 people died on Titanic's maiden voyage in 1912 from Southampton to New York after the ship collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic. However, Palmer, who created the company Blue Star Line last year, declined to make a similar boast.

China Shipyard Upgrades Ready to Build 'Titanic ll'

CSC Jinling Shipyard Co Ltd in Nanjing is to build a replica for Blue Star Line of the liner that notoriously sank in 1912. The project, which will take the state-owned CSC Jinling Shipyard Co Ltd in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, three years to complete, is financed by Australian billionaire Clive Palmer, China Daily reported. Plans call for the Titanic II to make its maiden voyage from England to the United States in 2016 with 900 crew members and 2,400 passengers, following the trans-Atlantic track of the original Titanic. China Shipyard Contracted to Build Four Bulk Carriers

China's CSC Jinling Shipyard inks contract with Singapore's Asia Pacific Shipping Enterprises for four 64,000-dwt bulk carriers Asia Pacific Shipping Enterprises, is the shipping subsidiary of Queensland Nickel Group, owned by Australian magnate Clive Palmer. Jinling Shipyard say the four vessels will use new ship designs made for nickel ore transportation. The newbuildings are upgraded to conform to recent global environmental regulations, and will be capable of a speed of 14.4 knots with only 24.9-ton fuel consumption per day. Dimensions of the four ships are to be: 199.9m in length, 32.26m in breadth and 18.5m in height. Meanwhile, Palmer Group is proceeding with the Titanic Ⅱ project at the same shipyard.

The Titanic II Preliminary General Arrangement Plan and Preliminary Midship Section Drawing depicts nine decks complete with first, second and third class, officer and crew accommodation as well as the insertion of a new ‘Safety Deck’. Chairman of Blue Star Line, Professor Clive Palmer, indicated the plans from Deltamarin for his shipping company Blue Star Line represent a significant milestone for the Titanic II project. “These plans underline the commitment and progression Blue Star Line has for the Titanic II project,” he said.

Titanic Replica Planned by Australian Billionaire

Palmer has signed a first-stage agreement with Nanjing- based CSC Jinling Shipyard to build the ship as part of a planned fleet of luxury liners, according to a Bloomberg news report. The ship will have the same dimensions as the original Titanic, with 840 rooms on nine decks as well as gymnasiums, swimming pools, libraries and restaurants. A historical research team had started design work on the ship, which would also include an exhibition room in place of the original's coal boilers to showcase Queensland and its abundance of opportunities. Palmer has signed a first-stage agreement with Nanjing- based CSC Jinling Shipyard to build the ship as part of a planned fleet of luxury liners, the Gold Coast, Queensland-based businessman informed.
