New Engine Controls for DHB Tug Doughty

CMR Group delivered an alarm monitoring and engine control system for use onboard the tug DHB Doughty. CMR to Supply CCTV Systems for Newbuild Semi-Submersibles

Marine automation and instrumentation specialists CMR Group said it has secured an order from industrial conglomerate Kongsberg Maritime AS for new closed-circuit television (CCTV) video surveillance systems for two new semi-submersible heavy lift, construction and accommodation vessels. The deal, which includes spare parts and maintenance support, will see the supply and installation of CCTV systems for the OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren, which are being built for China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co. Ltd. (CMHI).

CMR Group Awarded R&D Funding

The Digital Future of Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors

CMR Group’s chief technical officer, Patrice Flot, considers the current approach to sensing exhaust gas temperature (EGT) on high horsepower engine platforms and the capabilities provided by new digital technology. An EGT sensor measures the temperature of the engine exhaust gas to prevent damage to critical components such as the after treatment system, turbines and cylinder head exhaust valves. It can also be used inside the combustion chambers where hot gases are generated.

CMR Instrumentation, Sensor Control for French Navy Newbuild

CMR GROUP, the marine automation and instrumentation specialists, has supplied the French Navy’s latest maritime patrol vessel with advanced marine condition monitoring and sensor equipment. The deal sees a fully integrated instrumentation and sensor control platform specified for the Light Patrol Vessel La Confiance, in a move that reflects CMR’s continuing expansion in the sector as one of the leading designers and suppliers of next generation marine technology. CMR Eyes BWT System Control Growth

Ratification of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Ballast Water Management (BWM) convention has been welcomed by stakeholders throughout the maritime industry, including CMR Group, which said it sees the move as a boost for system and equipment manufacturers. The marine electrical wiring control and instrumentation specialist CMR Group commented after Finland ratified the convention, which saw the total tonnage of contracting states surpass the 35 percent mark. The countdown has now started for ship owners and managers, as the convention comes into effect from September 2017.

CMR Group Wins Triple Order in Mexico

Marine automation and control technology and instrumentation specialist CMR Group informs it has installed its Clarinux Integrated Alarm, Monitoring and Control System (IAMCS) on three multipurpose supply vessels (MSV). The project has been undertaken in collaboration with CMR’s Spanish marine agent and automation specialist, PDI Beiramar. Engineers from CMR Group and PDI Beiramar worked closely during joint acceptance testing at CMR France’s Marseille base before delivering the technology to the three vessels, which will be based in Mexico.

New Diesel Fuel Quality Sensor from CMR

According to engine control and instrumentation specialists CMR Group, significant fuel savings can be achieved by diesel engine owners and marine vessel operators using the world’s first commercial high horsepower diesel fuel quality sensor. The new Near Infrared Intelligent Sensor (NIRISTM) has been developed to detect fuel parameters through advanced hydro carbon profiling which measures the molecular structure of fuel. This allows real time optimization of injection, combustion and post-treatment for all types of fuel, including bio-fuels.
