ESAB Boasts Over a Century of Technological Innovation

September 2014 marks the 110th anniversary of ESAB Welding & Cutting Products. Colfax Names Bramstång Sales Director

Colfax Fluid Handling, a business of Colfax Corporation and company in fluid-handling solutions for critical applications, has named Carl-Henrik Bramstång Sales Director, Shipowner Sales. His new role will include the sales efforts for the company’s latest technology breakthrough, the Smart Technology CM-1000 Series, an intelligent controller for sea water cooling systems. Bramstång is a seasoned sales professional with almost 30 years of experience, including 22 years in various sales positions of increasing responsibility with Colfax Fluid Handling.

Victor Technologies Sold to Colfax Corp. in Cash Transaction

Private equity firm Irving Place Capital (IPC) and Victor Technologies (Victor) announce they have entered into a definitive agreement to sell Victor to Colfax Corporation (Colfax), a global manufacturer of gas and fluid-handling and fabrication technology products. Victor is a leading designer and manufacturer of a comprehensive suite of metal cutting, gas control, and specialty welding products. IPC acquired Victor, which was previously named Thermadyne Holdings Corporation, in a take-private transaction in December 2010.

Colfax Adds Active Control Valve to CM-1000

Colfax Fluid Handling, a business of Colfax Corporation, introduced an Active Valve Control option to its Smart Technology CM-1000 Series intelligent sea water cooling system controller. The CM-1000 Series with optional Active Valve Control may be applied to both newbuild and retrofit operations. Introduced in April and featured at Nor-Shipping 2013, the CM-1000 Series is designed to enhance shipboard sea water cooling system pumping efficiency while lowering operating and maintenance costs and maximizing uptime for greener, sustainable operation.

Colfax to Supply Pumps for Massive Heavy-lifting Ship

Nearly 100 Allweiler pumps of the SNF series will pump hydraulic oil in a shipborne system capable of lifting up to 48,000 tons for the purpose of decommissioning offshore platforms. (Image: Allweiler GmbH)

Colfax Fluid Handling, a business of Colfax Corporation, was awarded a contract as the exclusive supplier of hydraulic pumps for a ship capable of lifting the topside structures from offshore platforms. With a lifting capacity of up to 48,000 tons, the ship will remove topsides in one piece and transport them to land for deconstruction. ALLMIND will protect a pump, maximises efficiency, lower energy usage and lower maintenance and spare parts costs, claims manufacturer Colfax Fluid Handling (a business of Colfax Corporation a leader in critical fluid-handling, transfer solutions for the commercial marine, defense, oil & gas, power and industry). Energy costs account for 85 per cent of the total cost of ownership for ballast and cooling pumps, demonstrating the importance of assessing total cost of ownership rather than basing purchasing decisions purely on initial cost. Berggren Joins Grundfos

Grundfos has hired Jon Berggren as a new Business Development Manager to further strengthen the global pump manufacturer’s marine sector. Berggren holds degrees in mechanical engineering and marketing. He has 14 years of international experience in the maritime industry. Most recently, he was Marketing Manager of Commercial Marine at Colfax Corporation, where he was also Sales Director of IMO AB, one of the company’s brands. He has also held various positions with Alfa Laval, among other jobs.

Roller Executive VP Colfax Americas

Colfax Corporation (NYSE: CFX), a provider of fluid-handling solutions for critical applications, announced that William E. Roller has been promoted to executive vice president of Colfax Americas. He was most recently senior vice president and general manager of Colfax Americas. In his expanded role, he is responsible for the company’s operations in the Americas, as well as its global oil & gas and Colfax Defense Solutions organizations. His duties also include expanding the two-screw pump business and driving global sourcing. Roller joined Colfax in 1999, as general manager of Imo Pump.

Colfax, Allweiler Strengthen Presence in China, India

Allweiler AG has been producing pump parts at its own factory in Wuxi, China since the beginning of October. Starting in 2006, this plant will manufacture complete pumps for the Asian market. Having a production site in China makes it much easier for Allweiler to gain ground in this market. In neighboring India, the company recently purchased pump manufacturer Tushaco Pumps Ltd. Tushaco has been producing various pump types under license from Allweiler for about thirty years.Allweiler sees significant potential for growth in the Chinese market over the next few years, and being able to produce parts or entire pumps at its own Chinese plant will make it much easier to increase sales in that country.
