Global Marine Technology Trends 2030, released today, is the culmination of a collaborative project between Lloyd’s Register, QinetiQ and the University of Southampton looking at the future for: commercial shipping – without which world trade would cease; for navies – so vital for security; and the health of the oceans – the vital resource that defines the future wellbeing of the planet. C4ISR Powered Up on Waesche

The Lockheed Martin Coast Guard Systems team participated in the power up of the first set of electronic cabinets and consoles of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) system onboard the U.S. Coast Guard's second National Security Cutter, Waesche (WMSL 751). Lockheed Martin's C4ISR systems will provide Waesche's crew with a common operating picture to aid coordination among helicopters, aircraft, other ships and shore facilities. The system has an open architecture design and provides interoperability, assuring that the Coast Guard can work with multiple federal, regional and state agencies and organizations to maintain maritime domain awareness and accomplish homeland security missions.

L-3 Acquires International Electronics

L-3 Communications, announced has acquired the six corporations of G.A. International Electronics Group. G. A. International Electronics is a high seas marine electronics business providing sales and service of marine electronics equipment for navigation and communications onboard commercial tankers, freighters and major cruise liners operating within the United Sates and in the . The business will be combined into a single unit and renamed L-3 G.A. International and will be integrated into the L-3 Marine and Power Systems Group. Headquartered in , L-3 G.A. International has been successfully providing sales, installation, and service for a broad range of OEM navigation and communications products to commercial maritime shipping and cruise line companies for nearly 25 years.

General Dynamics LCS Open Architecture Approach
