Both subsea compression trains at Statoil’s Åsgard field have achieved more than 25,000 operation hours with an availability close to 100 percent. The world’s first subsea gas compression facility features two MAN Diesel & Turbo HOFIM motor-compressor units. The Åsgard subsea compression system has officially reached the highest Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7 with both trains surpassing 10,000 operating hours. TMC Compressors for Höegh FSRU
TMC Compressors (TMC) said it has penned a contract with shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries to supply a complete marine compressed air system to a new-build floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) the South Korean yard is building for Höegh LNG. TMC scope of work includes engineering, manufacturing and supply of a complete compressed air system consisting of 2 x 44 kW service air compressors and 2 x 44 kW control air compressors. MacGregor in JV with China State Shipbuilding
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, and China State Shipbuilding Corporation's (CSSC) Nanjing Luzhou Machine Co Ltd (LMC) signed a joint venture contract to form CSSC Luzhou MacGregor Machine Co Ltd. Subject to all relevant authority approvals, expected within this year, LMC will own 51 percent and MacGregor 49 percent of the new joint venture company. As a first step, the joint venture will cover the transfer of Hatlapa marine air compressor technology over a two-year period. CSSC Luzhou MacGregor Machine Co Ltd will be located in Nanjing and will have exclusive sales rights for the air compressors in China. Outside China, service, spare parts and new sales will be undertaken by MacGregor's established network.

Asia's First Floating LNG Project to Have GE Compressors
GE Oil & Gas to supply gas turbine-driven compressor train technology to Malaysia’s Petronas for a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility. The start-up of the FLNG facility is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015. It will be moored about 180 kilometers off the coast of Bintulu, Sarawak, and is designed to produce 1.2 million tons a year (mtpa) of LNG. Once on stream, the facility will boost Malaysia’s total LNG production capacity to 26.9 mtpa from 25.7 mtpa currently. GE’s compression trains are vital elements of the liquefaction process, which cools natural gas to a liquid state. The Hanseatic trading city of Bergen, on the edge of the Norwegian North Sea, has a long maritime tradition. From shipping to aquaculture to offshore oil and gas, this is a city whose economic identity is defined by its ties to the sea. The city is by far Norway´s largest port, with more than 13 million metric tonnes of cargo transported to and from Bergen in 2010. Crowley Adds 400 Refrigerated Containers
As produce farmers across the Americas gear up for the peak winter produce season, Crowley has added 400 new refrigerated containers to its fleet to accommodate their needs. The 40-ft containers were delivered last week at Puerto Limon in Costa Rica and will be distributed throughout the Central American countries Crowley serves within the next couple of weeks. The state-of-the-art units were purchased to accommodate future growth and to replace older units. The new Carrier PrimeLINE containers offer scroll compressor technology (inspired by the chamberednautilus shellfish).
