NMEA Awards Top Electronic Makers

Marine electronics experts named 11 products in nine categories as winners of the 2014 NMEA Product Awards. Once again, Furuno USA was named Manufacturer of the Year--Support. The winners were announced at the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held October 8-11 at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott in Fort Myers, Florida. Category winners are chosen by regional panels of NMEA members from around the country, hand picked by the NMEA Awards Committee for their extensive knowledge of marine electronics to create a level playing field for all product and manufacturer support nominations. "We want to congratulate all of the award recipients," said NMEA Managing Director Mark Reedenauer.

Raymarine Autopilot wins NMEA-BWI Technology Award

Independent panel selects product based on innovation, benefit to boaters, practicality and value. Raymarine took top honors at the 2013 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, winning the NMEA-BWI Technology Award for its Evolution Autopilot. The NMEA event, held at the San Diego Sheraton Hotel & Marina September 25-28, was attended by representatives of leading marine electronics manufacturers, dealers, distributors, media, and others from the United States and abroad. Named runners-up in the Technology Award competition were Nobeltec's TimeZero app (first) and Garmin's quatix marine watch (second).

Nobeltec App Wins 2013 NMEA Award

National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) annually recognizes companies that have demonstrated innovation and excellence by selecting products that have stood out from competitors in terms of functionality, usability and quality. Nobeltec was represented at the NMEA conference in San Diego last week by its Chief Technical Officer Iker Pryszo, as well as our Sales Manager Rodell Razor. Iker accepted the NMEA award for Computer Based Software on behalf of Nobeltec, which honored its product TimeZero App for iPad, based on TimeZero technology.

MARPOL Training, Campbell Transportation: Training Software for Inland Vessels

MARPOL Training Institute, a California-based training and consulting company specializing in computer-based software for maritime pollution abatement, and Campbell Transportation Company, a marine transportation company committed to safe and environmentally sound operating practices and procedures, has developed an inland version of NPDES Training for Vessel Crewmembers (NTV). This comprehensive computer-based training software package, called INTV, covers the US EPA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Vessel General Permit (VGP) for discharges incidental to the normal operation of commercial vessels and complies with the Best Management Practices for Towing Vessels & Barges developed by the American Waterways Operators.
