BIMCO Pushes for Shipdex

The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) and MAN Energy Solutions hosted a conference for software suppliers delivering Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to expand the use of Shipdex.Shipdex is the standard protocol for exchanging technical data - such as manuals – electronically between supplier and ships directly, cutting the need for huge stacks of - often outdated - paper manuals.“Honestly, we would have liked to see more suppliers for the conference. RINA and IB Partner for Ship Management Software Suite

International classification society RINA Group has partnered with Italian software house IB to distribute a software suite aimed at improving ship and fleet operation across the board. The InfoSHIP  suite is made up of a number of modules which together can be used to improve efficiency across any type of ship or fleet management. SpecTec, Wärtsilä join forces

SpecTec Group has signed an agreement with diesel engine company Wärtsilä whereby Wärtsilä will become a value-added distributor of SpecTec's AMOS software product range. The agreement marks the beginning of a partnership with the two companies co-operating to enable the delivery of fully integrated CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems), which includes e-business and electronic documentation. In the agreement just signed, SpecTec grants Wärtsilä the right to license, sub-license and market AMOS Express (Maintenance and Spare Part System), AMOS M&P (Maintenance, Purchase and Spare Part System) and AMOS Mail (Communications System) to its clients globally.
