Widebody Yacht Delivered in Italy

On June 18 at the Intermarine yard in La Spezia, Italy, the fourth example of the CONAM 75 Wide Body was – dubbed Andrea 1921 – was delivered. The CONAM 75 WB is entirely built and fitted out in Rodriquez Cantieri Navali’s Intermarine yard in Sarzana. The fifth 75 WB is being fitted out and her delivery is planned within a month, whilst numbers 6 and 7 are also under construction. Rodriquez took over the activities of CONAM in the beginning of 2002 and immediately started with the development and designing of new models. This led to the first CONAM 75 Wide Body being introduced in 2003 at the Genoa Boat Show. The Conam series are characterised by the “wide body” or “full beam” concept which maximizes the space on board, without compromising performance.

Rodriquez Cantiere Navali Wins Fast Ferry Contract

Passengers will be accommodated on three decks with bar service on the main and upper decks. The as yet un-named vessel will be fully HSC compliant and will be classed by RINA. As has become a hallmark of the fast ferries built by Rodriquez, the vessel will have an advanced ride control system consisting of four anti-roll fins (two per side) and transom mounted intruders.

A new business study entitled The World Marine Propulsion Report 2003-2007* predicts that newbuild deliveries measured by tonnage will grow by four-percent over the five years, against a fall in vessel numbers of 10-percent. However, the propulsive power embodied in the newbuild influx should increase by eight-percent compared with the 1997-2002 period. The market for main engines…
