AG&P, Hindustan to Build a New LNG Import Terminal in India

Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Company (AG&P) and Hindustan LNG (HLNG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to supply tolled gas to power stations in the East Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh, India. Under the agreement, AG&P will provide an integrated solution to deliver regasified LNG through a new LNG import terminal that AG&P will also design and build at the port in Andhra Pradesh. AG&P is a leading global integrator of LNG infrastructure solutions including LNG terminals and the supply chains that emanate from them. HLNG is a Hyderabad-based LNG import terminal development company. The MoU was signed at the Partnership Summit 2017 organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the signing was graced by Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Tax Sops for Indian Shipping Industry

In order to support the Indian shipping industry, the Government of India has exempted Customs and Excise Duty leviable on bunker fuels used in Indian flag vessels for transportation of mix of EXIM, domestic and empty containers between two or more ports in India. Government has brought in a uniform abatement of service tax for transportation of goods by rail, road and sea vessels. Indian shipping industry has been provided cargo support through Right of First Refusal (RoFR). Government has taken policy decision to allow shipping enterprises based in India to acquire ships abroad and also flag them in the country of their convenience. As a step towards promoting “Ease of Doing Business” methodology for computation of period of stay of seafarers in India has been redefined.

EXG Wins CII SCALE Award

Express Global Logistics Pvt Ltd (EXG) won the Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Award 2015 organized by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry). EXG bagged the award for Excellent Position in Supply Chain & Logistics in Specialised Cargo category. The recognition of SCALE Awards 2015 encompasses the excellence amongst logistics service providers and supply chain aspect of user industry. The winners were selected after a long deliberation by the esteemed jury which included eminent people from various sectors with specialized knowledge. Krishnapatnam Port wins CII EHS Award

Krishnapatanam Port was declared winner of the CII Southern Region’s EHS Excellence Award for 2014. The 8th EHS Award organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)-Southern Region was held on 14th March 2015 at ITC Park Sheraton, Chennai. The award applauds Krishnapatnam’s aspirations to empower and enable safe work environment for employees and society as a whole. INMARCO INAvation 2014 Opens on 11th December

INMARCO INAvation 2014, the International Maritime Technology Conference & Exhibition on “Innovations for Maritime Sustainability” is being held at the “National Centre for the Performing Arts” (NCPA) in South Mumbai from 11th to 13th December 2014. Houston Port eyes Indian Business

According to reports, addressing a Confederation of Indian Industry interaction, Jim Fonteno, Commissioner, Port of Houston Authority said that seaborne trade with India has increased by nearly 190 percent in the last decade. India ranks as the 24th largest trade partner with the Port of Houston with over $916m in trade, and added that the Houston Port has a lot of experience in security, management, etc. A delegation from Houston is currently on its first international trade development mission to India from June 12 to 17. India was ranked as the 18th largest export country from the Houston/Galveston Custom District with over 822 million dollars in exports.
