Astilleros Balenciaga Delivers New SOV for Edda Wind

Norway-based Edda Wind on Tuesday announced it has taken delivery of a newly built service operation vessel (SOV) from Spanish shipbuilder Astilleros Balenciaga.The vessel, C416—to be renamed Edda Goelo at a later stage—was delivered on March 26. It will be the permanent vessel in the contract with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy at the Saint-Brieuc wind farm in France, running until Q2 2028. C416 is of Salt 0358 design and the sister vessel of Edda Brint, delivered from Astilleros Balenciaga in October 2022.

Odfjell Completes Terminal Expansion in Houston

Odfjell Terminals US (OTUS) reports it has completed the construction and commissioning of its Bay 13 at the Houston Terminal (OTH), adding nine new tanks, with a combined capacity of 204,000 barrels. The new tanks are a combination of stainless steel and carbon steel, and each tank has been engineered with positive pressure systems and full automation, Odfjell said. Norwegian offshore wind service vessel firm Edda Wind has taken delivery of Edda Brint service operation vessel from Spain's Astilleros Balenciaga. Nortrans' Flotel to Assist with Coral FLNG Hook-Up

Singapore-based offshore vessel provider Nortrans has secured a flotel contract with TechnipEnergies to support the hook-up of the giant Coral Sul FLNG unit that has recently arrived in Mozambique after a journey from South Korea where it was built.Nortrans said that the flotel contract had a potential total period of up to 200 days including options. Australian oil and gas company Santos has awarded the FEED contract for the FPSO for the Dorado project offshore W. Strong Offshore Wind Lifts U.S. Maritime, Port, and Logistics Companies

After several false starts, 2021 is the year when the U.S. offshore wind industry begins to realize its potential. Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) hired alumnus Captain Gordon ‘Mac’ MacArthur to serve as master aboard the Training Ship State of Maine.With more than 30 years of experience in the maritime field, MacArthur served most recently as a Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer for Diamond Offshore Drilling, where he monitored environmental conditions, assisted in incident investigation and analysis, maintained and tested equipment, and managed personnel aboard offshore drilling vessels. Russia’s first cargo and passenger ship-to-ship LNG-bunkering vessel has been set afloat, Gazprom Neft has informed.“Ship-to-ship” bunkering involves ships being refueled directly from the deck of a specialist bunkering vessel.
