Callan Marine Launches Marine Construction Division

Engineering and technology group SENER has appointed Manuel Jiménez as the new Financial and Administrative Director of SENER’s Engineering and Construction Division, replacing José Luis Anzola, who has held the position of Corporate Chief Financial Officer of the SENER Group since 2015. Jiménez holds a degree in Economics and Business Science, specializing in Business Administration, from the University of Seville and has 15 years of professional experience developed in different positions within the Abengoa Group.

Danos Appoints 3 to Sr. Positions

Danos announces the hiring of Marc Distefano, John Danos and Jack Roszelle to leadership positions with the company. “We welcome Marc, John and Jack to the Danos team,” said CEO and President Hank Danos. John Danos (no relation) serves as construction division general manager, working to develop a best practices foundation for the way Danos executes projects in conjunction with the company’s project management group. Prior to joining Danos, he held leadership positions at J. Ray McDermott, International Offshore Services, International Construction Group and Harvey Gulf International Marine. SENER Opens UK Office

SENER opened an Engineering and Construction division in Manchester to reinforce its presence in the United Kingdom. The group already has work sites set up in the UK and it maintains a close 25-year relationship with Rolls Royce through ITP, a leader in the global market for industrial and aeronautical engines in which SENER (53.125%) and Rolls Royce (46.875%) are the two shareholders. The new office will lend the support needed for ongoing projects such as the construction of two Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy.

LQT Delivers Accommodation Facility and Helideck in Gulf of Mexico

LQT Industries , a full-service provider of accommodation facilities, design-build construction services, and support services to the oil and gas industry, has engineered and built a new series of aluminum accommodation buildings that will be utilized by a major oil and gas operator on a platform in the Gulf of Mexico. The buildings are 10’W x 35’L and weigh only 16,000 pounds. These newly built buildings, along with one of LQT’s modular helidecks which will be placed on top of the buildings, have been allocated for a major oil and gas operator and commissioned on a platform in the Gulf of Mexico in September 2014. The fleet expansion adds another option to their wide variety of buildings to give customers more flexibility to choose the optimum accommodation package for their project.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced today that Mike Petters, its president and CEO, was honored by the Navy League of the United States New York Council at a dinner last night in New York City. Petters was awarded the Rear Admiral John J. Bergen Leadership in Industry Award for his leadership of HII and the company's achievement in designing and building the ships that help maintain the sea power that assures the United Sates' security and economic prosperity. He was one of five individuals recognized by the Navy League.

Harkand Names Brown to Gulf of Mexico Management Team

A U.S. Navy veteran, Brown has considerable experience of commercial diving in the offshore oil and gas sector having held number of senior positions in a career spanning more than 35 years. He was most recently working with Chet Morrison Contractors as general manager of the offshore construction division.

Port Everglades to Renovate Cruise Terminal

Port Everglades will begin the renovation for its sixth cruise terminal in five years this spring as Terminal 4 is modernized through an expansion and reconfiguration effort that will provide the cruise line industry with a modern dual flow facility just in time for the 2014/2015 cruise season. In addition, the adjacent Slip 2 will be extended by 250 feet for a total 1,150 feet of berth length to accommodate larger cruise ships calling at Port Everglades. The Slip 2 extension is slated for completion by the end of 2016.

Reef Subsea has secured two contracts for offshore operations in the West Africa region with a combined value of more than US$15-M. More than 500 people assembled in Crystal City, Va. March 9 for the annual celebration of the anniversaries of the Seabees, Civil Engineer Corps (CEC), and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). NAVFAC Commander and Chief of Civil Engineers Rear Adm. Kate Gregory hosted the special occasion to honor these organizations' past, present and future. This year's ball marks the 71st anniversary of the Seabees, the 146th anniversary of the Civil Engineer Corps, and the 171st anniversary of NAVFAC, which was established in 1842 as the Bureau of Navy Yards and Docks.

Having detailed instructions for each shipbuilding task and precise sequencing of the workflow is creating efficiencies and reducing rework at shipyards on the east and west coasts of the US. Worker Safety Program Launched in Singapore

The Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Clean Technology Centre has announced the WDA-DNV Excellence In Safety Training (WEST) programme to raise safety standards and skills for the manufacturing workforce to benefit 80 local workers over the next year. The programme is the first collaboration between WDA and DNV to equip the Singapore manufacturing workforce with safety excellence skills which are critical in managing risks and preventing major accidents for the high value-added manufacturing sector. At times, these companies could have neglected safety and may result in dramatic loss of economic returns and social losses.

EMAS sees strong start to 2012 with further global contract wins worth US$120 million - 12 January 2012. EMAS, a global offshore contractor and provider of integrated offshore solutions to the oil and gas (O&G) industry and operating brand for Ezra Holdings Limited (Ezra or the Group, 以斯拉控股), today announces two further contract wins worth a total of up to US$120 million for the Group. The offshore support services division, EMAS Marine, has been awarded a new charter by an oil major for a vessel to be deployed in the Asia Pacific region in the 2nd quarter of 2012. The contract has a one year firm period and an additional option period of two years with an aggregate contract value of up to US$107million (including option periods).

Industry veteran Captain Adarash Kumar will become Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Group level to spearhead Ezra‟s burgeoning international operations. He has been with the Group since its listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited in 2003, forming part of the core team that has worked to transform Ezra to a leading provider of offshore O&G support services globally that it is today. Captain Kumar, 51, has served in the marine industry for more than 25 years and has been an executive director of Ezra since 24 March 2003.
