OceanWise Re-launches iCoast

OceanWise, the player in marine environmental data acquisition, data management, GIS and other services,  announced its involvement in the recent iCoast renovation project.The iCoast website, found at www.icoast.co.uk, is an open access web application providing users the ability to quickly explore activities and plan days out at the Dorset coast.A simple map interface allows users select and view activities at the Dorset coast. Activities appear on the map as a small icon which can be queried to find out more information and add to the kitbag for later. Users can also add weather, tide and transport information to the map, making exploring and planning days out in Dorset a breeze!OceanWise have delivered a brand new front-end (the mapping web pages exposed to the customer)…

IRClass Launches Mobile App on World Maritime Day

The Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) is set to launch its newly-designed website and a mobile application, for modern, seamless user experience, today (28th September 2016). The revamped website which is compatible on all devices, is visually more appealing, with improved content layout, but at the same time, maintaining the ‘IRClass’ brand experience. This allows richer content to be delivered to the IRClass’ audience, with faster response times. The launch date of this Wednesday coincides with the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) World Maritime Day which is celebrated by the shipping industry around the world. Using an advanced content management system, the website now has a greater flexibility in content management, and updates are 50% faster.

New Suite Simplifies Vessel Documentation

Ocean Time Marine informs it has added to its suite of safety management tools with a new vessel content management system, the Ocean Time Marine Dashboard and a suite of paperless safety document packs. These tools aim to provide simplified administration for vessel management delivering greater support and cost-savings for captains and crew on board and ashore, Ocean Time Marine said. In response to the marine industry’s need for an easier way to store and manage vessel documentation, Ocean Time Marine developed the Dashboard.

New Offshore Vessel Management Mobile App

Telerik says that its customer Bhagwan Marine, a leader in servicing the oil and gas industry, together with partner, Glenfield Digital Group, has released the first mobile app for offshore energy vessel management. 'LiveFleet'. Telerik explains that Bhagwan Marine wanted to be the first to leverage technology to promote its business in a bold way, setting it apart from industry-standard four-color printed brochures. The company decided to pursue a mobile app that would organize extensive vessel information and specifications, show vessel location in real-time, offer push notifications, pictures and more. Also the app would help manage Bhagwan Marine’s 700 person workforce, a critical need since 90 percent of staffers work remotely.

TNKC Fleet Upgraded with BASS Software

Maritime software company BASS starts the fourth quarter by clinching a fleet-wide system upgrade for the subsidiary of the K-Line group Taiyo Nippon Kisen Co., Ltd (TNKC). With this upgrade, 107 TNKC vessels will operate on the BASSnet 2.8 Fleet Management System to enhance its efficiency gains. The ship management company has been operating on BASSnet 2.0 since 2001. TNKC has been enjoying the benefits of optimizing its shipping operations with BASSnet Fleet Management Systems for a full 12 years.

Imtech Marine to Supplier Infinity to Global Markets

Strategic Marine Expanding in Western Australia

Western Australian shipbuilder Strategic Marine will expand its presence in the state's North West, establishing a new facility at the SINWA site in Karratha. The operation has been established to meet the demands of Strategic Marine's growing number of clients in the offshore oil and gas sector for fast and reliable marine services. Strategic Marine Chief Operating Officer Scott Nicholls said the company had built and delivered a number of vessels now operating in the North West, so the timing was right to establish a permanent base in the region. "This new facility will provide rapid response marine services for the oil and gas sector, fabrication facilities and through life support for all vessels operating in the region," Mr Nicholls said.
