Malaysia: Petra Energy Wins Work for Accommodation Workboat

Bursa Malaysia-listed Petra Energy has secured a contract with Petronas Carigali to provide accommodation workboat Petra Galaxy.The value of the contract is based on work orders issued by PCSB throughout the contract duration, Petra Energy said Friday.The duration of the contract is up to 255 days from the start date, effective from February 17, 2023, with an option to extend up to 60 days.According to Petra Energy's website information, the Petra Galaxy can accommodate 189 persons aboard.

Petrobras Takes DOF AHTS on a Three-year Charter

Brazilian oil and gas company Petrobras has awarded a contract for DOF Group's AHTS vessel Skandi Rio.DOF said Thursday that the vessel would support Petrobras' exploration and production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf. The vessel is owned and operated by DOF's subsidiary Norskan Offshore. DOF other subsidiary DOF Subsea Brasil Servicios will be responsible for the ROV operations. The contract duration is for three years with an expected start in December/January. Petrobras will have an option to extend the contract for another year.Built in 2007, Skandi Rio is a Brazilian built and flagged AHTS vessel equipped with Work Class ROV's for operations down to 3.000m water depth.

Siem Offshore Wins Work for AHTS Trio

Norwegean offshore and subsea shipping company Siem Offshore has won one-year contracts for three anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels in Australia.The Cayman Islands-registered marine transportation and logistics services provider said the AHTS trio would support an upcoming drilling campaign of an oil and gas company in Australia.Siem Offshore did not reveal the name of the client. It did not say which vessels would be used for the operation.The contract  duration  for each vessel is 365 days + options  and with commencement in first quarter 2020.Siem Offshore  operates a large number of support vessels: 10 Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels, 5 Platform Supply Vessels and 6 OSCV & MRSV.

Solstad Offshore Bags New PSV Contracts

Norwegian offshore service and supply ship shipping company Solstad Offshore has been awarded contracts for two platform supply vessels (PSVs) in Norway.Solstad said in a press release that Wintershall Dea had awarded a 10-well firm plus options contract to support its West Mira rig drilling campaign. The contract duration is estimated to be 30 months.Commencement of the contract will take  place in August/September 2019, and will be covered by the large PSVs Normand Falnes ((VS 485 MkII, built 2011) and Normand Naley (VS 485 MkII, built 2011).Normand Falnes is currently being reactivated from layup and have also been secured by Vår Energi for a 1 well (Approximately 80 days) contract to support their Scarabeo 8 drilling operation in the Norwegian Sea…

Dynagas Vessel Employment Almost Full

Monaco-headquarters Dynagas LNG Partners said that it had estimated contracted time charter coverage for 98% of its fleet estimated available days for 2019, 100% of its fleet estimated Available Days for 2020 and 92% of its fleet estimated Available Days for 2021.As of March 21, 2019, the Partnership’s contracted revenue backlog estimate  was $1.38 billion, with an average remaining contract term of 9.5 years, the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) maritime transportation company said. DynaGas LNG Partners in the Red in Q3

Monaco-based owner and operator of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, reported a third-quarter ended September 30, 2018 loss of $654,000, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.The gas shipping company said that the Q3 results included $2.3 million of scheduled class survey and dry-docking costs related to the Yenisei River, one of the three tri-fuel diesel engine (TFDE) vessels in our fleet.The company said it had a loss of 7 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 4 cents per share. It has posted revenue of $31.3 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts.Tony Lauritzen, Chief Executive Officer of the Partnership, said: “Our reported earnings for the third quarter of 2018 were in line with our expectations.

Transocean Amends Drilling Contract

Transocean announced that an agreement has been reached with the incumbent customer to amend the drilling contract on the harsh environment semisubmersible Transocean Leader. The rig experienced equipment breakdown that could not be repaired timely, providing the customer with the right to cancel the contract. However, given the otherwise efficient performance of the rig, the customer elected to complete its program with the Leader and Transocean agreed to amend the drilling contract, signed today and effective January 13, 2018, whereby the dayrate and contract duration were modified. The rig is currently in the shipyard for these repairs and will not earn a dayrate during the first quarter of 2018.

Solstad Farstad Bags New Contracts

TAQA Bratani has awarded Solstad Farstad ASA a contract for the Platform Supply Vessel PSV Far Spica (2013, PSV 08 CD Design). The contract is the duration of TAQA’s mobile drilling Campaign in the UK Sector, which is approx. 18 Months,   with expected commencement in Q1 2018. Far Spica is currently trading the North Sea Spot Market. AGR Well Management Limited has awarded SOFF a contract for the PSV Normand Aurora (2005, P105 Design). The contract duration is for 1 well firm + 1 well options supporting West Hercules in the UK Sector and the commencement is expected to take place March 2018. The firm period has an estimated duration of 75 days. Normand Aurora is currently trading the North Sea Spot Market.

Dynagas Announces TC for LNG Carrier Pair

Dynagas LNG Partners has announced that a Partnership has entered into a new three year charter agreement with Statoil ASA (Statoil) for the employment of the Arctic Aurora, its 2013-built, 155,000 cubic meter, tri-fuel diesel engine, ice class liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier. The Arctic Aurora is currently, and has been since 2013, on charter to Statoil. The Extended Charter is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2018 in direct continuation of the Current Charter (interrupted only by the vessel’s mandatory statutory class five-year special survey and dry-docking) and will have a firm period of about 3 years +/- 30 days. Statoil will have the option to extend the Extended Charter by two consecutive 12-month periods at escalated rates.

TEN Completes Fleet Expansion

Tsakos Energy Navigation Ltd (TEN) has reported the delivery of the ice-class Aframax tanker Bergen TS, the last in the 15-vessel, pre-employed on long-term business, growth program, which increased the size of TEN's fleet by 30 percent over the last 18 months. Boskalis Bags Long-term Dredging Contract

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V., together with a Cypriot partner, has been awarded a contract for long term maintenance dredging works in the Middle East. Boskalis and its partner will develop and build an electrical cutter suction dredger for these works that are set to commence shortly after the commissioning of the vessel in 2019. The cutter suction dredger will be fully electrically powered through an onshore 33kV powerline connection. The 100-meter-long shallow water vessel will have a capacity of 1,000 kW, allowing it to pump the dredged material over a distance of 7.5 kilometers. The investment will be fully recovered within the contract, and the dredger will be transferred to the client at the end of the contract duration.

Premier Oil’s Catcher project remains on pace to achieve first oil before the end of this year with the arrival and hook up of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel BW Catcher last week in the U.K. North Sea. BW Catcher arrived at the Catcher field on October 18, and the hook up of the Submerged Turret Production (STP) buoy mooring system was completed on October 19 with the vessel completing a rotation test around the buoy on October 20, Premier Oil said. Final pull-in of the risers and umbilicals is underway, and commissioning activities have commenced in parallel.

Maersk Drilling Gets Contract Extensions for Two Rigs

Maersk Drilling has been awarded two contract extensions in the North Sea. Both rigs have recently been re-activated to the North Sea from warm stacking. The estimated duration of the two extensions is 105 days. The high efficiency jack-up Maersk Resolve has been awarded a contract extension by Wintershall Noordzee B.V. for the drilling of a third well in the ongoing drilling campaign in the North Sea. The drilling of the third well will take place in the Dutch Sector and the work scope includes drilling as well as potential testing and completion activities. Maersk Resolve is currently drilling the first well of the contract with Wintershall Noordzee B.V. in the UK sector and will soon move to the Dutch Sector to commence the second well.

Dynagas LNG Posts Q2 Loss

Greece-based Dynagas LNG Partners has reported a second-quarter loss of USD 5.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same quarter a year before. "We are satisfied that the class surveys, including dry dockings, were completed in a quick and efficient manner with an average of approximately 15 days per vessel from arrival to departure at the shipyard. The vessels are on a 5-year special survey cycle, therefore we expect the next special class survey and related dry docking to occur in about 5 years," he added. Dynagas, Gazprom in New Long-term Time Charter Contract

Dynagas LNG Partners signed a new long-term time charter contract for the Clean Energy. The Partnership, through one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, entered into a new long-term charter agreement with an affiliate of the Gazprom Group for the employment of its 2007 built 150,000 cbm steam turbine LNG carrier Clean Energy. The charter is expected to commence in July 2018 and will have a firm term of seven years and nine months. The Partnership expects to generate approximately $133.0 million of gross contracted revenues over the life of the contract. Dynagas 2Q Results Upbeat

The financial results of Greece-based Dynagas LNG Partners LP (DLNG) for Q2 beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 42 cents per share. It has profit of 43 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs, came to 48 cents per share. Dynagas reported  for the three and six months ended June 30 earnings of $17 million. It posted revenue of $42.6 million in the period. Tony Lauritzen, Chief Executive Officer of the Partnership, commented: "We are pleased to report our earnings for the second quarter of 2016. Ampelmann Produces Winterized Offshore Gangway

On April 14, 2016, offshore access solutions company Ampelmann and Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. signed an agreement to install and operate a winterized version of an Ampelmann’s motion compensated gangway system. This system will be capable of safely and efficiently transferring work crew up to -28 degrees Celsius, therefore supports Sakhalin Energy’s requirements to continue maintenance and increase offshore POB year round in the Sakhalin-2 field. The winterized Ampelmann, project name “Icemann”, will be installed on one of Sakhalin Energy’s new ice breaking support vessels of which delivery is due next year. Ampelmann will engineer and build this bespoke, unique in the world system for its launching customer Sakhalin Energy. The contract duration will be for 10 years.

Dynagas Partners inks long-term deals for two LNG Vessels

Monaco – March 31, 2016 –Dynagas LNG Partners LP. * Gazprom Global LNG Limited has extended its current charter for the 2007-built LNG carrier Ob River, on the same terms, until May 1, 2018 (plus or minus 15 days). In addition, the Partnership has entered into a new long-term time charter agreement with Gazprom Marketing and Trading Pte. Ltd., an affiliate of Gazprom, for the Ob River, which is expected to commence immediately following the vessel’s redelivery from its current charter with Gazprom, for a period of 10 years (plus or minus 15 days). *  The Partnership has entered into a new long-term time charter agreement for its 2013-built LNG carrier Lena River for the Yamal LNG Project.

Seadrill’s Posts Strong Q4 Results

Rig company Seadrill, once the crown jewel in the business empire of shipping tycoon John Fredriksen, said the final quarter of 2015 was the year’s strongest in operational terms, but warned that 2016 would be tough and said it was working to strengthen its finances. Net income rose 82 percent to $285 million in the fourth quarter, beating the $238 million average estimate in a Bloomberg survey. “During the fourth quarter we experienced our best operational quarter of the year, while continuing to reduce our cost base,” Chief Executive Officer Per Wullf said in a statement. In addition to a falling market, Seadrill is struggling with a debt burden that by far exceeds that of its competitors. Total debt at the end of 2015 was $10.7 billion, according to the quarterly report.

Maersk Guardian Acquires 5-year Accommodation Deal

Maersk Drilling has been awarded a contract with Maersk Oil for the jack-up rig Maersk Guardian for accommodation on various fields in the Danish part of the North Sea. The firm contract duration is 5 years with commencement in September 2016. The contract includes two 1-year options. The estimated contract value for the firm contract period is USD 142m. “We are pleased that we will get Maersk Guardian back on the water. In this market, it is important to seek out new ideas in order to keep our rigs employed. An accommodation contract like this is a good example of that and it adds to our contract backlog,” says Morten Pilnov, Head of Global Sales in Maersk Drilling.
