Texas Boats Combat Drug Cartels on the Rio Grande

Texas Marine Unit Uses Yellowfin-built Shallow Water Vessels for Border Patrol missions. Menaced by Mexican drug cartels, the Texas Department of Public Safety operates a fleet of six shallow-water vessels it commissioned in late 2011 and 2012 to patrol its borders. The agency purchased the boats from Bradenton, Florida-based manufacturer Yellowfin Yachts as threats along the Rio Grande escalated. GD Wins $27m Navy Contract

General Dynamics Information Technology has won three task orders worth a total of $26.7m from the Naval Sea Systems Command. The company will provide IT engineering and professional services for the US Navy's Smart Carrier program at its , Carderock Division in . It will support modernization operations including testing and installation of new machinery control monitoring systems, distributed data and control networks, and navigation and ship control systems. It will also provide engineering, system analysis, and program support for navigation and integrated bridge control systems that include antenna, sail, radar, microwave, and electrical systems.

NAVSEA Awards General Dynamics $27m IT Services Contracts

General Dynamics Information Technology, has been awarded three Seaport-e task orders by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) , Carderock Division (NSWCCD), in. The contracts have a total potential value of $26.7m if all options are exercised. Titan Wins Navy Contract

Titan Corp., Mt. Laurel, N.J., is being awarded a $28,114,055 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, performance-based contract to provide integrated systems engineering support services to Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston. The contractor shall provide services in systems engineering, program management support, integrated logistics, configuration data management, and security support for various departments of the Navy C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) systems and other command control networks. This contract includes four one-year options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $149,208,202. The work will be performed in Charleston, S.C.

Trident Warrior ’07 Brings New Technology to the Fleet

Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM) is hosting Trident Warrior 2007, the annual FORCEnet sea trial event, from March 16 through March 30, to improve communication and speed vital information to warfighters. During the exercise, U.S. naval forces are teaming with DoD and civilian agencies to test new technologies that will improve communication and situational awareness across a multinational experiment. Military units from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and France are also taking part in Trident Warrior. Some participants are actually attending the exercise here while others are linked virtually, using the various technologies being tested in a network-centric environment.
