Ardent and Ardentia Join Forces
Global maritime services firm, Ardent, and Ardentia Marine Group, a Spanish salvage, engineering and commercial diving company, have formally partnered for future operations following the signing of a cooperation agreement in June 2016. Ardentia has been the emergency response and underwater services provider for the Spanish Coast Guard since 2009, and has intervened in nearly 100 operations with marine casualty control, fuel and bunker removal, refloating and wreck removal. The company maintains a strong presence in Spain and Portugal.
Ardent Turns One
In May, 2015, Svitzer Salvage, a part of the Maersk Group, and Titan Salvage, under the Crowley Group, merged to form Ardent. Now the salvage industry’s “new kid on the block” celebrates its first birthday. The merger, which fused Svitzer Salvage’s strengths in emergency preparedness and response with Titan’s large project specialization, has developed a more robust service offering for the worldwide salvage industry. Costa Concordia Removal Plan Presented Today In Rome
With Costa Concordia Emergency Commissioner Franco Gabrielli in attendance, Costa Crociere S.p.A. and Italo-American consortium Titan-Micoperi, the winner of the tender tasked with performing the work, today presented their plan to remove the wreck of Costa Concordia from the coast of Giglio Island. Following a conference convened by the commissioner May 15, during which the relevant authorities provided the necessary permits, the work will begin in a few days and is expected to last about 12 months.
Costa Concordia Wreck – Removal Contract Awarded
Costa Crociere and the Costa Concordia Emergency Commissioner's Office announced that the tender for the removal of the ship from Giglio Island has been awarded to Titan Salvage in partnership with the Italian firm Micoperi. The work will begin in early May subject to final approval from the Italian authorities and is expected to take about 12 months. Titan Salvage is an American-owned specialist marine salvage and wreck removal company, part of the Crowley Group, and is a world leader in its field. Micoperi is a well-known Italian marine contractor with a long history as a specialist in underwater construction and engineering.
