GE Completes HAZID Meetings for World’s First LPG-Fueled Ferry

GE’s Marine Solutions reports that the world’s first Liquid Propane Gas (LPG)-fueled ferry design to use GE’s COmbined Gas turbine Electric and Steam (COGES) system has successfully completed Hazard Identification (HAZID) meetings. The consortium of Youngsung Global, DINTEC, Korea LPG Industry Association, GE’s Marine Solutions and Far East Ship Design & Engineering Co. (FESDEC) signed a multilateral memorandum of understanding in November 2016 to cooperate on this unique ferry design. “Bureau Veritas, a world-leading classification society with a large and recognized expertise and experience in gas fueled ships, chaired the HAZID meetings. All consortium members were represented as well as SK Gas and E1 who are members of the Korea LPG Industry Association.

Global energy and commodity price reporting agency Argus has launched a daily marine fuels pricing and analysis service, Argus Marine Fuels. It provides market data and intelligent analysis of the increasingly complex marine fuels market. Trade in marine fuels is changing quickly. Oil prices are high and volatile. New environmental regulations are forcing ships to burn more expensive low-sulfur fuels. Trading companies are entering the market as others abandon it. And with "bunkers" now accounting for up to 80pc of their operating expenses, shipowners and managers are taking a closer look at procurement costs. Argus Marine Fuels throws a much needed light on this rapidly changing market.

Then they probably asked if you had thought about the additional costs such as insurance, maintenance and major repairs. But at this point, you were probably thinking of the improvements that you wanted to make to the car. Other concerns such as are you paying too much for the car may have come up. If it did, your response may have been that the price wasn't too high, but was your response based on emotion or did you really know?
