LR, ABS Join Forces to Deliver New Generation CSR software

Common Structural Rules Software LLC, (CSRS) a joint venture company formed by Lloyd's Register (LR) and ABS, has released new software tools for meeting the requirements of the IACS Common Structural Rules (CSR), which entered into force on 1 July 2015. Developed from the technical strengths of LR and ABS, version 2.5 of the CSR Prescriptive Analysis and the new CSR Finite Element (FE) Analysis software, allow assessment of whole vessel structures, including new bulk carrier and oil tanker designs. Both class societies will use these new tools to evaluate new designs to the CSR. "I am pleased that the strategy laid out more than a decade ago is achieving our objectives," says LR’s Marine Director Tom Boardley.

IRS Software for Common Structural Rule

IRClass has announced the release of new technical software, IR-CSR, for verification and compliance of oil tankers and bulk carriers against recently mandated Common Structural Rules (CSR) by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). The CSR applies to all relevant vessels contracted for construction on or after 1 July 2015. The IR-CSR software has been designed to analyse ships for prescriptive, direct strength and fatigue requirements complying with IACS rules. The Finite Element Analysis in IR-CSR is based on PATRAN/NASTRAN, one of the most commonly used platforms for analysis of ship structures. It will ensure the software is adaptable to all input files built using this platform, including those made on other software.

Harmonized CSR-Compliant Ship Design Support Software

ClassNK releases a new version of its PrimeShip-HULL (HCSR) ship design support software that is fully compliant with the new IACS Common Structural Rules

ClassNK released a new version of its PrimeShip-HULL (HCSR) ship design support software that is fully compliant with the new IACS Common Structural Rules (harmonized CSR) for oil tankers and bulk carriers. The new ship design support software is reported to be the first in the world to fully support the new Common Structural Rules, which were adopted by IACS in December 2013. As part of its work to support the development of safer ships, ClassNK is providing the software free of charge to its customers such as shipyards and designers around the world.

ClassNK Releases World’s First Harmonized CSR Compliant Ship Design Support Software. Classification society ClassNK (Chairman and President: Noboru Ueda) has announced the release of a new version of its PrimeShip-HULL (HCSR) ship design support software that is fully compliant with the new IACS Common Structural Rules (harmonized CSR) for oil tankers and bulk carriers. The new ship design support software is the first in the world to fully support the new Common Strucutural Rules, which were adopted by IACS in December 2013.

ClassNK Releases First Harmonized CSR Software

ClassNK (Chairman and President: Noboru Ueda) has released the world’s first software package for use with the new IACS Harmonized Common Structural Rules (CSR) for bulk carriers and oil tankers, which were released at the beginning of July 2012. The release makes ClassNK the first classification society to release Harmonized CSR compliant software for use by the maritime industry. ABS and Lloyd’s Register Release Common Software

(Houston and London) ABS and Lloyd’s Register (LR) announce the release of jointly-developed software that will be used to assess bulk carriers and oil tankers designed to comply with IACS Common Structural Rules (CSR).
