Two More CTruk Workboats For OTS
OTS took delivery of its sixth CTruk 20T MPC vessel, with its seventh coming by the end of May. Pontrilas-based Offshore Turbine Services (OTS) offers crew, fuel, cargo and equipment transfer services to offshore wind turbines, sub stations and other offshore developments requiring maritime logistics. New CTruk Design Targets Work Farther Offshore

CWind Backs New BV Class as Second Vessel Attains Classification
CWind, a provider of services to the offshore wind industry, has announced a second of its vessels, the CWind Resolution due to be named later today in Brightlingsea, has gained the new class notation âWind Farm Service Shipsâ introduced by Bureau Veritas earlier this year. The CWind Resolution is only the second ever vessel to be classed under this notation to date, joining its sister vessel the CWind Challenger on the register. The vessel, a CTruk 20T MPC, is joining CWindâs fleet of now 15 vessels, as part of the companyâs âBoat-share schemeâ under which experienced skippers are being given the opportunity to co-invest in the vessels.
Northern Irish Wind Energy Delegation
CWind hosted a delegation of 20 businesses from the south east region of Northern Ireland on Tuesday this week. The delegation, led by Energy Connections NI and hosted by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) was in the area this week to see first-hand how businesses here have taken advantage of the supply chain opportunities on offer and exchange thoughts on the renewable energy sector with East of England experts. Knights Offshore Support Takes Delivery of First CTruk OWSV
New business venture Knights Offshore Support (KOS) has taken delivery of its first CTruk 20T MPC offshore wind support vessel, Coastal Knight, which will soon join offshore wind industry service provider CWindâs growing charter fleet. Owner Paul Knight considers CTrukâs multi-role composite cats to be âthe vessels of the futureâ and hopes that the 18.5m Coastal Knight, will be the first of a fleet of KOS workboats to ultimately support offshore wind farm construction and operations around the Scottish coast.
North Devon Skipper Joins CWind Boat Share
Scott Wharton, a North Devon skipper with 29 yearsâ experience fishing in the Bristol Channel, has joined the CWind boat share scheme taking on a new CTruk 20T vessel due for launch in mid-July. The vessel will join the CWind fleet working on offshore wind farms around the U.K. soon after. Under CWindâs boat share scheme, the company and the skipper both invest in the vessel and agree the sharing of costs and profits. While the skipper contributes the experience and manpower to run the vessel, CWind contributes contracts and contacts within the offshore wind industry as well as fleet management and their proven health and safety operating system.
Sima Charters Signs Second CTruk Vessel
Ruud Lievaart, owner of Netherlands-based Sima Charters, has inked the agreement for a second CTruk 20T multi-purpose catamaran during Seawork International in Southampton this week. For CTruk this signing means that every client it works with has taken a second CTruk vessel, the company said. Offshore Turbine Services Order More CTruk Boats
Offshore Turbine Services (OTS) has ordered two more CTruk 20T MPCs for delivery in spring 2014. The inking of this latest order comes as the company prepare to name their fifth CTruk multi-purpose cat in Brightlingsea this week, the Commodore P. CTruk explain that from the start OTSâ operations director, Nick Bright, has worked closely with CTruk on enhancing the 20T design to fit their specific requirements. With his years of experience as a commercial fisherman, there is little Nick doesnât know about the demands made on these boats at sea on 24/7 offshore operations.
Six CTruk Cats Head for Irish Sea Wind Farm

Dutch-owned Sima Charters takes delivery of the latest vessel to join its fleet, a CTruk 20T multi-purpose catamaran, 'SC Buzzard'. Sporting Sima Chartersâ eye-catching yellow and blue livery, SC Buzzard is the tenth vessel to be completed at the Brightlingsea yard in two years. SC Buzzard was officially named at an informal gathering in Brightlingsea recently.
