K+N to be CO2 Neutral for Shipments

Switzerland-based global transport and logistics company Kuehne + Nagel International AG has launched a Net Zero Carbon program that will aim to reduce the environmental impact of supply chains.In addition to the continuous reduction of its own CO2 emissions, the company now offers its customers solutions for reducing the CO2 footprint of their supply chain. With the use of big data and new digital platforms, the selection of transport routes and modes can be optimized from a CO2 perspective.Kuehne + Nagel has also decided to proactively address the CO2 footprint of the transportation services performed by its suppliers – airlines, shipping lines and haulage companies. Kuehne + Nagel targets comprehensive CO2 neutralization (Scope 3 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol – GHG) by 2030.

CMA CGM Orders 50,000 Traxens Trackers

French liner carrier CMA CGM has announced a new order for 50,000 Traxens trackers, aiming to fit containers with connected trackers to provide greater traceability – monitoring location, temperature, shocks, and when container doors are opened.As a structuring shareholder and the first company to have invested in Traxens in 2012, CMA CGM participated in the development of the solution by testing it for several years, then launching it commercially in 2018."Thanks to the order of 50,000 trackers this year, CMA CGM is implementing its decision to deploy the Traxens solution on a large scale for the benefit of its customers," the shipping giant said in a press release.CMA CGM customers who opt for the Traxens solution can efficiently monitor their goods…

Evoqua, Drew Marine Ink BWMS Deal

Evoqua Water Technologies and maritime solutions and logistics expert, Drew Marine, have announced a partnership to provide a full compliance package for ballast water management. The collaboration brings together Evoqua’s technology and Drew Marine’s engineering, logistics and service expertise to offer ship owners and operators expert assistance worldwide. The partnership will centre around Evoqua’s industry-leading SeaCURE Ballast Water Management System (BWMS). CENTRE GROUP, TUFTON OCEANIC STRUCTURE HIGH-YIELD CDO

Shipping Bond Fund Ltd. A member of the Centre Group and TuftonOceanic have completed what is believed to be the first collateralized debt obligation (CDO) comprised entirely of high-yield shipping bonds. The $50 million CDO, Shipping Bond Fund Ltd., is unique due to its size and the fact that it selected assets solely from a select group of shipping industry bonds with high asset coverage ratios. Centre looks for opportunities to work with experienced partners to structure and provide capacity to CDOs and other asset-backed structured finance transactions through the application of non-traditional insurance and reinsurance products.
