Global Offshore, part of Global Marine Group, has won a contract for the installation and burial of 27 array cables at Parkwind’s Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm in the German Sector of the Baltic SeaGlobal Offshore will be responsible for the project management and marine engineering; cable protection systems supply and installation, pre and post lay surveys, cable loading and laying, cable burial, and post-burial survey.OceanIQ, Global Offshore’s sister company, will provide route engineering services for the project.

CWind Sells CTV Endeavour to Wood Marine

CWind, a provider of project services and crew transfer vessels (CTV) to the offshore wind industry, reports it has completed the sale of its CTV Endeavour to Wood Marine, a port services operator based in Suffolk, U.K.According to CWind, part of the Global Marine Group (GMG), the sale the 18.5-meter catamaran with a maximum speed of 27 knots, is part of the company’s plan to remodel its CTV fleet.“We continuously review the composition of our fleet of over 20 CTVs, to actively divest tonnage and upgrade our fleet to suit market requirements.” Joshua Brennan, operations director at CWind.

Fugro, HC2 Divest Global Marine Group Stake

US-based financial services company HC2 Holdings and the Dutch multinational provider of geo-intelligence Fugro have sold offshore engineering specialist Global Marine Group (GMG) to private equity firm J.F. Lehman & Company for a sum of USD 250 million.HC2 holds 73% of Global Marine Group’s shares, while Fugro holds 23.6% of the shares. Through its ownership of 23.6% in GMG, Fugro will monetize the remainder of its non-core interest in GMG, which is expected to result in proceeds for Fugro of close to USD 40 million.Global Marine Group is made up of the three business units Global Marine, Global Offshore and CWind. The company provides a wide range of engineering services to the oil & gas and wind energy industries.

CWind Orders Hybrid Crew Transfer Vessel

Isle of Wight shipbuilder Wight Shipyard Co (WSC) has been contracted by CWind to build the world’s first hybrid surface effect crew transfer vessel, to  service the Borssele 1 and 2 offshore windfarms located 23 kilometers off the Dutch coast.CWind’s long-term charter contract agreement with Ørsted, which operates the Borssele 1 and 2 offshore windfarms, will start in mid-2020. The agreement will cover an initial three-year firm charter with options available for a further two years.WSC said it will manage the build project from its development stage right through to delivery. The vessel will be able to handle 2m significant wave height during technician transfer in heavy seas.

CWind Awarded TP Gate Contract

Offshore wind industry services provider CWind said it has been awarded a contract by DONG Energy, to install new and retrofit existing gates on the transition pieces (TPs) at the Gode Wind and Borkum Riffgrund offshore wind farms, located in the North Sea off the coast of Northern Germany. CWind, which is part of the Global Marine Group and delivers the company’s power capabilities, will use its crew transfer vessels, assets and engineering expertise to help complete the project.

CWind, a provider of services to the offshore wind industry, informs that DONG Energy, one of the key energy groups in Northern Europe, has granted CWind a two-year extension to its existing three-year Crew Transfer Vessel contract at the West of Duddon Sands Offshore Wind Farm in the Irish Sea. CWind, the offshore power focused business of Global Marine Group (GMG), will provide vessels for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) to the 108-turbine West of Duddon Sands site, including a summer campaign to ensure the site remains operating at peak performance throughout the busier summer months.

Global Marine Expands Its Fleet

Subsea cable systems design, installation and maintenance firm Global Marine Systems Limited, has added the 6,200 ton cable deadweight CS Recorder to its fleet. Built in 2000, the vessel formerly known as the Maersk Recorder, has previously been chartered by Global Marine for numerous cable installation projects and has since successfully completed work in the oil and gas and renewables sectors. The newly named CS Recorder is intended to support the telecoms installation business growth over the next 5-10 years, with a number of critical projects scheduled during 2018, 2019 and 2020.

CWind Invests in Largest Crew Transfer Vessel to Date

CWind, a provider of services to the offshore wind industry, has announced that it has invested in the company’s largest crew transfer vessel to date. Newly named as CWind Phantom, the 27.4m catamaran can hold 20,000 litres of fuel and has a 20 ton cargo capacity, making her suitable for longer stretches of work at wind farms located further from shore. This investment demonstrates the company’s ability to evolve with the changing market. CWind’s fleet now totals 18, with access to additional cable installation and maintenance vessels via CWind’s parent company, Global Marine Systems Limited.

CWind Provides Vessels for E.ON Offshore Maintenance

CWind, an  integrated service provider in the offshore wind industry, has announced that it supplied Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) to assist with blade repair operations at the offshore wind farm for E.ON, the wind farm site owner at Robin Rigg.  For E.ON, CWind supplied a MPC19 vessel and the SWATH Endurance. The MPC19 benefits from having a low operating draft, which makes it equipped to operate in the shallow waters at the Robin Rigg site, while the SWATH Endurance enables technician transfer in rougher seas. CWind said it has extensive experience in the maintenance and support of offshore wind farms and, in recent years, has undertaken contracts with other clients for similar work at Lincs, Rhyl flats and Lynn & Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms.

TCS Charters CWind Crew Transfer Vessel

Transmission Capital Services (TCS) has chartered one of CWind’s crew transfer vessels (CTV) on a five-year contract to support works at several of their offshore substations in the U.K. CWind, a provider of services to the offshore wind industry, said it is using one of its MPC19 resin infused composite catamarans to provide the crew transfer services. CWind announced in February this year that it had won a 20-year contract from TC Westermost Rough OFTO Limited, one of the OFTOs managed by TCS, to maintain the secondary mechanical and electrical systems of both the offshore and onshore substations at the Westermost Rough project. The earlier contract covered all routine inspection, diagnostics and planned maintenance work, as well as a first response service and offshore transport.
