CSMC Takes Delivery of M/T ‘Aitolos’

The Greek oceangoing vessel operator Capital Ship Management Corp. (CSMC) took successful delivery of the newbuilding vessel M/T ‘Aitolos’.The 115,000 dwt, eco-type crude oil tanker is built by Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, S.Korea, said a press note from the ship management services provider.M/T ‘Aitolos’ is the first of two sister ships to be delivered in 2020.Capital Group currently operates a fleet of 78 vessels including 48 tankers (10 VLCCs, 4 Suezmaxes, 7 Aframaxes, 26 MR/Handy product tankers and 1 small tanker), 5 modern bulk carriers, 18 container carriers and 7 LNG Carriers with a total dwt of 8.5 million tons approx.The fleet under management includes vessels of Nasdaq-listed Capital Product Partners L.P. and NYSE-listed Diamond S Shipping Inc.

Capital Product Partners Adds Two Vessels, Sells One

Greece-based international diversified shipping partnership Capital Product Partners announced the completed acquisition of the M/T ‘Aristaios’, as well as the sale of the M/T ‘Aristotelis’ and the acquisition of the M/T ‘Anikitos’. On January 17, 2018, the Partnership acquired the eco-type crude tanker ‘Aristaios’ (113,689 dwt, Ice Class 1C, built 2017, Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., South Korea) for a total consideration of $52.5 million from the Partnership’s sponsor, Capital Maritime & Trading. The M/T ‘Aristaios’ is currently employed under a time charter to Tesoro Far East Maritime Company at a gross daily rate of $26,400. The Tesoro charter commenced in January 2017 with duration of five years +/- 45 days.

Scorpio Tankers to Sell Assets, Upsize Credit Facility

Press release - Scorpio Tankers announced an agreement to sell STI Highlander, newbuilding vessel deliveries, and the upsizing of a previously announced credit facility. The company reached an agreement to sell its 2007-built Handymax product tanker, STI Highlander, for approximately $19.35 million. The sale of this vessel is expected to close in October 2015. There will be no debt repayment associated with this sale as this vessel is not collateralized under any of the company's credit facilities. Subsequent to the sale of STI Highlander, all of the company's owned fleet will have been built in 2012 or later. STI Carnaby, an LR2 product tanker, was delivered from Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd.

Scorpio Tankers Orders 4 LR2 Tankers

Scorpio Tankers Inc. informs it has entered agreements to purchase four LR2 product tankers. The company has also recently taken delivery of three newbuilding vessels. Scorpio Tankers reached agreements with two unrelated third parties to purchase an aggregate of four LR2 product tankers currently under construction at Sungdong Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. and Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for approximately $60 million each. These vessels are expected to be delivered between June and August 2015. STI Lauren, an LR2 product tanker, was delivered from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering of South Korea in April 2015. STI Connaught, an LR2 product tanker, was delivered from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries of South Korea in May 2015.

Scorpio Tankers Secures Loan Duo

Scorpio Tankers Inc. announced today that it has received commitments from two leading European financial institutions for two separate loan facilities of up to $113.2 million in aggregate to partially finance the purchase of four LR2 product tankers that was announced in December 2014. The loan facility will be used to finance a portion of the purchase price of two LR2 product tankers currently under construction at Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. with expected deliveries in Q1 2016 and Q2 2016 respectively. The loan facility has a final maturity of seven years from the date of signing and bears interest at LIBOR plus a margin of 1.95% per annum. The loan facility is subject to customary conditions precedent and the execution of definitive documentation.

LR2 Product Tanker Joins Scorpio Tankers' Fleet

Scorpio Tankers Inc. today took delivery of STI Alexis, an LR2 product tanker from Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. This vessel will begin a voyage for 52 days at approximately $33,500 per day. The Company has also exercised an option to extend the charter on one of its time chartered-in LR2s for six months at $16,250 per day, commencing in March 2015. Earlier last week, Scorpio Tankers took delivery of STI Veneto, an LR2 product tanker from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. Scorpio Tankers currently owns 64 tankers with an average age of 1.3 years and has time charters-in 21 product tankers. A 2009 built Kamsarmax for 11 to 13 months at Company's option at $14,500 per day. The Company has the option to extend the charter for an additional 11 to 13 months at $15,500 per day. The vessel was delivered on March 8, 2014.

Konecranes Wins More Than $28M in Orders

Konecranes received orders totaling over $28.35m from four South Korean shipyards in September 2007. Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd and Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. ordered the design, project supervision and components for eight Goliath gantry cranes. Deliveries are scheduled for spring 2008. The largest of the cranes ordered has a lifting capacity of 1500 tonnes. The orders include crane design, project supervision and key components such as gears and electrical motors. All four shipyards already use Konecranes' Goliath gantry cranes. The rail span of a Goliath gantry crane can be up to 216 meters and the lifting height up to 98 meters, the crane itself can be over 100 meters high.

Acquisition of Four Capesize Newbuilding Contracts

Golden Ocean Group Limited has acquired two newbuilding contracts at Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., South Korea and two newbuilding contracts at Zhoushan Jinhaiwan Shipyard in China. The vessels of 170,000 dwt and 176.000 dwt respectively will be delivered between December 2008 and October 2009. The total purchase price for the four units is $296m. Given the continuous positive outlook for the global steel production and the age profile of the existing capesize fleet, the management has a positive market view for this sector going forward. The Board of Golden Ocean finds the combination of price and time of delivery attractive, and an additional step in its ambitious growth strategy.

Knightsbridge Tankers Limited to Buy Two

Knightsbridge Tankers Limited has agreed to purchase two newbuilding contracts, each for a Capesize bulk carrier of approximately 170,000 deadweight tons (dwt). The ships will be built at Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd in the Republic of Korea with delivery scheduled for September and December 2009 respectively. The newbuilding contracts have been acquired from Golden Ocean Group Limited ("GOGL") which company has ordered a series of sister ships at the same yard. The contract price for the two vessels is $ 81m per vessel. In addition Knightsbridge will pay a 1% commission to GOGL for arranging the deal. GOGL is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and is a related party of Frontline Ltd, the parent company of the Company's manager.

Golden Ocean Group Limited has acquired four newbuilding contracts at Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., South Korea. The vessels of 170,000 dwt will be delivered between May 2008 and January 2009. The agreed purchase price is USD 72,25 million per unit. Given the positive outlook for global steel production and the age profile of the existing cape size fleet, the management has a bullish market view for this sector going forward. The Board of Golden Ocean finds the combination of price and time of delivery attractive, and a right step forward in its growth strategy. The Company has been granted the option for additional four vessels which can be delivered between April 2009 and January 2010.
