Excelerate to Build FLNG Terminal in Philippines

Philippine authorities have given Excelerate Energy LP permission to proceed on plans to develop a floating natural gas import terminal to supply existing and new power generation.Texas-headquartered player in floating LNG regasification solutions, received a notice to proceed (NTP) from the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) to develop Luzon LNG, which would be a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) terminal in the Bay of Batangas.The project, Luzon LNG, will supply natural gas, sourced from LNG, to existing and new gas-fired power plants in the region that provide electricity to Luzon including the area of Metro Manila. Excelerate, Equinor Perform First STS LNG Transfer

Excelerate, TGS Join for Argentina LNG Export Study

Excelerate Energy and Transportadora de Gas del Sur (TGS) have provisionally agreed to jointly assess the viability of an LNG liquefaction and export project at Bahia Blanca in Argentina.Argentina currently imports liquefied natural gas (LNG) through two floating import terminals, particularly during the country's peak winter consumption.The successful development of Argentina's shale gas reserves resulted in a potential excess of natural gas during the summer months. The project aims at studying the technical and commercial viability of liquefying and exporting natural gas during the summer season, allowing a more sustainable development of shale gas resources and reducing Argentina's annual natural gas net import needs.The study is expected to be completed by the end of 2018…

Excelerate to Develop Second FSRU for Port Qasim

Excelerate Energy will deliver its second floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to Pakistan following negotiations with a consortium comprising Engro, Fatima, and Shell. It is expected to be the country's 4th such floating terminal. The FSRU will be based at Port Qasim where Excelerate has had an FSRU, Exquisite, operating since March 2015 chartered to Engro-owned Elengy. Excelerate has a proven track record of successfully delivering fast-track floating regasification projects around the world and will use its experience to help the Consortium meet the aggressive delivery schedule required for the terminal. Most recently, Excelerate successfully commissioned GASCO’s Ruwais Floating LNG terminal in the UAE, which was implemented in less than 12 months.

Bangladesh LNG Terminal Edges Closer

Excelerate Energy L.P. (“Excelerate”), Petrobangla, and the Government of Bangladesh executed the Terminal Use Agreement (“TUA”) and the Implementation Agreement (“IA”) for the construction and operation of Bangladesh’s first LNG import terminal – Moheshkhali Floating LNG. Located offshore near Moheshkhali Island in the Bay of Bengal, the terminal will provide the crucial infrastructure required for the country to access natural gas from global markets. The signing of the agreements signals the commencement of the project and the approval to move forward to implementation. The terminal is expected to be in operation in 2018. The project is a result of the collaboration between Excelerate, Petrobangla, and IFC, a member of World Bank.

Aguirre Offshore GasPort Project Receives EIS from FERC

Excelerate Energy ("Excelerate"), in cooperation with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority ("PREPA"), has received the final Environmental Impact Statement ("EIS") from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC") for its Aguirre Offshore GasPort Project ("Project") located offshore Puerto Rico. The EIS assesses the environmental impacts of the liquefied natural gas ("LNG") terminal proposed by Excelerate and determines if the Project is suitable for construction and operation. The FERC staff concludes in its statement that the construction and operation of the Project would result in limited adverse environmental impacts that would mostly occur during construction.

Excelerate Energy’s Aguirre Offshore GasPort Project Receives Notice of Schedule from FERC and Letter of Recommendation from the U.S. On May 2, 2014, Excelerate Energy received the Notice of Schedule for Environmental Review from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for its Aguirre Offshore GasPort Project (AOGP) located offshore Puerto Rico.
