Ocean Safety Secures Contract with Royal Netherlands Navy

Jonbuoy man overboard recovery system

The UK’s largest independent safety supplier, Ocean Safety, has concluded a contract to supply its Jonbuoy man overboard recovery systems to the Royal Netherlands Navy. The Jonbuoy, an automatically inflating recovery device which is designed to make simple work of hoisting a person back on board a ship or yacht, is directly manufactured by Ocean Safety. Datema Appointed Ocean Safety Distributor in The Netherlands

Ocean Safety has appointed a new distributor in the Netherlands to supply the company’s range of equipment including the Kru range of lifejackets, Ocean Safety liferafts and lifebuoys, first aid kits, survival suits and Aquaspec lights. Datema, which is part of the Nautical Safety Group, is prominent in the field of nautical safety and nautical data, (including Enc Track), in the Netherlands. Innovation Award for Primar Distributor

Netherlands based Datema and its ENCTrack service has been awarded the 2009 maritime innovation award for its innovative approach to the distribution and management of electronic navigational chart services. It helped to define the overall project deliverables for ENCTrack, agreeing and examining the basic reporting requirements and criteria for this type of ENC licensing and reporting. “We had three goals,” explained Peter Scott, PRIMAR’s senior technical advisor on the project.
