Sanborn Joins Moffatt & Nichol
Moffatt & Nichol announced that David C. Sanborn has joined the firm as Senior Port Consultant. Sanborn brings more than 35 years experience in the shipping, ports and transport sectors of the maritime industry to the firm. Throughout his career he has managed numerous container ports and has been involved in concept and design processes for logistics facilities in several key areas of the world. He has had extensive international experience in all aspects of general management within the transportation industry, having held senior positions during his career in the United States, Brazil, Europe, Hong Kong, the Dominican Republic, Singapore and Dubai.
DP World Exec Withdraws Nomination
Reports indicate that an executive with a Dubai-owned company withdrew his nomination as head of the agency that oversees ports in a letter to President Bush on Monday. David C. Sanborn, of Virginia, to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration, vice William Schubert, which was sent to the Senate on January 18, 2006. New Maritime Administrator Named
President Bush intends to nominate David C. Sanborn to be the next Maritime Administrator. Mr. Sanborn, a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, currently serves as Director of Operations for Europe and Latin America at DP World.
