GulfMark Offshore Elects Two New Board Members
GulfMark Offshore, Inc. (NYSE:GLF) has announced the election of Steven W. Kohlhagen and Charles K. Valutas to its Board of Directors for terms expiring in June 2014. Steven W. Kohlhagen is a retired financial executive who brings to the Board expertise in financial accounting, finance and risk management through his extensive experience in, and knowledge of, the financial, securities and foreign exchange markets. He has held various positions in the private sector, including investment banking, asset management, and most recently as a consultant with AMETEK, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of Directors, the Business and Risk Committee and the Compensation Committee of Freddie Mac. He also serves on the Boards of Directors for Abtech Holdings, Inc., Reval Inc.
Maersk Tankers Exits Handygas With Vessel Sale
Maersk Tankers exits its Handygas segment by selling all 11 vessels to Navigator Gas. The divestment allows Maersk Tankers to focus on fewer segments and releases capital for future investments. Hanne B. Sørensen, CEO Maersk Tankers, said: "Navigator Gas presented us with a great business proposition that supports our aim to simplify and release capital for future investments. The sale affects around 300 seafarers on the Handygas vessels. It is expected that all seafarers will be transferred to other vessels in the Maersk Tankers fleet or be offered employment by Navigator Gas. Maersk Tankers is working closely with Navigator Gas to ensure a smooth transition of the vessels andto support the employees in the period of change.
WL Ross Invests in Navigator Holdings LTD
WL Ross & Co. and Navigator Holdings Ltd. have entered into a definitive agreement for WL Ross to acquire up to 19.4% of Navigator's common stock for a total of US$62.5 million in order to provide additional capital resources for the company's growth program.
