Harkand Secures Decommissioning Work in UKCS

Global  inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) company Harkand, has commenced decommissioning work in the United Kingdom Continental Shelf supporting Maersk Oil UK’s work in the Leadon field. North Sea Oil: Harkand wins Maersk Oil North Sea Deal

Harkand won a multi-million contract with Maersk Oil North Sea Ltd for the provision of DSV services in the North Sea region. The 12-month contract will be serviced by Harkand’s two DSVs, the Harkand Da Vinci and Harkand Atlantis, supported by project management and engineering from Harkand’s Aberdeen office. The contract covers well tie-ins, structure installation, piling, flexible flowline lay, flexible riser installation, pre-commissioning, riser recovery, decommissioning and general inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) work.

Harkand Charters ROV Support Vessel in North Sea

Harkand  has extended its ROV support vessel fleet operations in the North Sea by signing a charter agreement for the Surf Ranger. The multipurpose ROV, survey and air diving vessel, owned by Go Offshore, will be deployed immediately on its first scope of work, a pipeline and structural inspection campaign for TAQA’s U.K. business. Little Change in Overall Shipping Confidence

Little change occurred in the latest monthly Stifel Logistics Confidence Index. Slipping only 0.1 points from 57 in March to 56.9 this month, the overall index did however favor improvements in the present situation increasing 1.6 points to 51.8. However, expectations for the next six months dimmed falling 1.8 points to 62 for April. The monthly airfreight data is such an example. For April, the present situation increased 0.5 points to 49 whereas expectations declined 2 points to 61.3. The present situation indicates a current market in contraction due to the index figure below the 50-level.

New North Sea CNR Contract Requires Second Harkand Vessel

Subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) group Harkand says it is to position a second dive support vessel in the burgeoning North Sea sector after securing a major contract with CNR International (CNRI). Harkand Makes Several Senior Appointments

Harkand strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of three senior figures as the company embarks on the next stage in its growth strategy. Kevin Gorman has joined as vice president of HR. One of two new newly created group positions, his appointment will allow Harkand to strengthen its capacity as it looks to grow its current 750-strong global workforce. He is joined by new group general counsel Colin Forbes. John Ewen has been appointed general manager for Harkand ISS, which serves Europe, Harkand’s largest region. All three posts will be based in Aberdeen.
