MSRC Completes Gulf of Mexico Expansion
The Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) announced that it has completed its Gulf of Mexico expansion program, known as Deep Blue. The new response capabilities created under this program are now ready to respond to an oil spill incident, if and when necessary. EU Review Includes Coasta Concordia Lessons
Safety of passenger ships – Costa Concordia accident and Commission review of safety legislation. Vice-President Siim Kallas, European Commissioner for Transport has asked that the currently ongoing review of EU passenger ship safety legislation take fully into account any lessons to be learnt from the Costa Concordia tragedy. The review will prioritise, in particular, the issues of: design and stability of passenger ships, technological developments in the sector, crew training and safe operation, including emergency evacuation procedures.
Consiliums Oil Spill Detection Radar
The recently launched Oil Spill Radar by Consilium Marine & Safety was tested together with the Norwegian Coastal Administration and the Norwegian Clean Seas Association For Operative Companies (NOFO). MSRC, Clean Bay Merge
The Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) and Clean Bay Inc. announce the merger of the two organizations’ California-based assets effective January 1, 2004. The merged organization will operate as the California Region under the MSRC structure with their principal regional offices located in Concord, California. The merger combines the personnel and resources of both organizations into one locally operated organization, and provides access to MSRC’s considerable national resources in the event of a large incident.
